Discover London Bar & Kitchen – the trailblazing traders who supply all your favourite bars, pubs and restaurants with their glasses and tableware

Is there anything better than the bartender coming over and serving up your drink of choice in an uber-suave glass?

Yep, glassware has a lot to answer for. But what if we told you that you can recreate that whole vibe in the comfort of your own home?

Cool, right? All you need is just a little help from LBK. Newcastle’s number one destination for glasses, bar supplies and tableware with a difference; is set to reopen its Quayside showroom in the next few days, following an extended period of revitalisation following lockdown. And we’ve been lucky enough to get a sneak peek inside. Let us tell you – it’s epic.

Think crazy curves and innovative designs, glimmering glassware and vibrant bursts of colour; rose-gold cocktail shakers and pastel ceramics, Tiki-inspired mugs mingling freely with out-and-out Gatsby decadence and the world-famous Flavour Blaster to both smoke and create aromatic bubbles (you need to see it in action!). Yes, stepping inside LBK’s showroom is like stepping into a kaleidoscope of opulent aesthetics – and we’re here for it.

Best of all, LBK live not only to serve their traders, (that is, all our favourite bars, pubs and restaurants in the North East and beyond), but their showroom is also open to everyone – meaning you can nab yourself some top-of-the-range kitchenware at a fraction of its high street price.

We caught up with LBK’s Chris Mabbutt, ahead of the grand unveiling later this week. Here’s what you need to know…

What makes LBK different?

Our showroom offers the latest tableware and innovation from British manufacturers such as Steelite and Churchill, and amazing glassware from Italian manufacturers like RCR Crystal and Luigi Bormioli. If you’re a bar or restaurant owner, our purchasing power and unique relationships with our suppliers means that we can beat just about any trade quote for your venue. Want to save money for your business and get some of the newest and best products? It’s as easy as popping in to see us.

Or are you a member of the public? Take advantage of our public shop and get professional quality products at low trade prices. You can save more than 50% on selected products versus the high street! Our meeting room is also available for hire, whether for showcasing our own products or holding your own meetings, networking or special events.

London Bar and Kitchen Newcastle LBK

‘London’ is in the brand’s name – what made you want to set up shop on Newcastle’s Quayside?

Although we supply nationally, with offices in Watford and London, we thought it was prudent to have a hub for the North East. Newcastle is a great spot to showcase our range of barware and hospitality equipment. The North East is also the home of our owners.

What are your top 3 LBK pieces right now?

I’m going to cheat a little bit here and split my answer between glassware, barware and some amazing tableware, and share some collections as otherwise I’d be here all day listing specific products! I’m also going to cheat and say top 6ish…

Up there for me at the moment is our mixology collection. From decanters to coupe glasses, tumblers and highballs, it has everything you could ever need to serve up the swankiest cocktails. Our Aztec collection is also so different, colourful and vibrant. It takes you straight back to being on holiday and sipping cocktails on the beach!

The Flavour Blaster has to be included. We’re the only distributor of this great bit of kit, so if you want to grab one, why not come see it in action at our shop and have a go! Bars, restaurants and hotels are getting the new Flavour Blaster Pro 2 all around the world.

If you’re brightening up your kitchen and dining rooms, you need to check out the Craft Apple range from Steelite. It’s so vibrant. Steelite’s Craft collection also has Raspberry Pink available. Or, if you’re after a more mellow colour palette, you can’t go wrong with the Studio Prints Kintsugi range from Churchill.
