How to…wear faux leather
Our stylist Kat Quinn shows us how to incorporate faux leather into our winter wardrobe - from a hint of the trend to going all out...
Faux leather is, without doubt, one of the top AW fashion trends, not just this year but every year. Every celebrity from Kate Moss to Kate Middleton is embracing leatherette in a contemporary way. Faux leather can be daunting, but with the right approach, anyone can introduce this trend into their wardrobe.
Here are some gorgeous examples of how to wear PU this season…
Why not try some leather boots paired with a cute day dress or something as simple as a chunky waist belt over some knitwear? It instantly adds more style and of course, enhances your waist. The classic colour to go for is black, but faux leather also looks fantastic in bottle green, burgundy and cream.
The next step is to embrace some new wardrobe staples; faux leather trousers/leggings or even a skirt. The fabulous thing is that it can be styled casual or dressy. Match your leggings with some oversized knits and trainers for day to day or with a crisp white shirt and some heels for date night. Most shops now sell a lightweight stretchy faux leather which is a lot cheaper than real leather and looks just as gorgeous.
A full faux leather dress is the ultimate way to embrace this trend. Contrary to popular belief you can wear a leather dress for many occasions from nights out with the girls to weekend trips with the family. You could even rock it around the office if styled with tights.
