Thanks to celeb fans like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Rosie Huntington-Whitley and the Kardashians, loungewear is really having a moment right now – meaning we have many muses to inspire our current comfort-focussed style.

Our advice for a stellar off-duty look? Avoid grey marl joggers and sweatshirts, as you will end up feeling at best washed out – at worse, like an unkempt P.E teacher from your school days gone by. Instead, embrace rich block colours or simple black, browns and creams. Ideally, opt for a set – this will make getting ready require less thinking time in the morning. Whilst it may be tempting to go bright, bold and patterned with each piece you buy, sticking to blocks of neutral colours will mean each of your items aren’t hard to pair together when some of your pieces are confined to the laundry basket.

These buys are the perfect in-between items for when you feel like staying in pyjamas, but are really trying to be productive. If you’re able to, opt for organic cotton and ethically sourced products – yes, they will be more expensive but they will also last, not to mention have a positive impact on the environment.

Our wear-all-year picks are smart enough that you can open the door to the postman, or answer a work Skype call, but cosy enough to, ahem, lounge in. This is goodbye stained t-shirt and mismatching shorts, hello vibes of a rich Beverly Hills condo dweller.

Nail off-duty style with this two-piece set from COS. Taking zero effort to style but managing to look incredibly sleek, this is tailored knitwear at its best. These trendy co-ords are made from pure organic cotton, in a rich darkened pink that’ll complement all skin tones.

Whilst we’re not advocating staying in your PJs at home, (you will end up back in bed, which, when W.F.H, is a no-no for productivity) slippers-at-home get a thumbs up from us at HLN. These ultra-soft sliders look well beyond their price point, the luxe-looking boucle fabric is giving us serious Kim K for Skims vibes.

We don’t know about you, but we’re still thinking about that Katie Holmes knitted bra moment. Totally iconic, it started an entire loungewear movement of its own.

We say match it à la Katie with Zara’s co-ord cardigan in warm brown.

If you do want to inject a little fun into your at-home wear, these super-soft joggers and matching jumper from Oliver Bonas are a great shout. Ideal for looking luxe yet laid back, the chic navy combined with colourful striped trims give this set a fashion-forward feel.

If you don’t want to waste time coordinating an outfit, an all-in-one is your at-home style essential. Wonderfully easy to wear, you’ll be as relaxed wearing this jumpsuit around the house as you will be if you have to pop out for a pint of milk.

Whilst this might be the most you’ve ever spent on socks, they are made from exquisitely soft cashmere and will last for years to come. To us, comfy feet is a must, so indulging in these heavenly socks means a warming treat for our feet, day and night. We deserve it.

We can’t get enough of camel hues even as we head into the Spring months – plus, the S/S 20 runways showed us the trending colour is going nowhere fast. Wear these stylish separates individually or together – either will give you a sophisticated take on chill-out wear. And in case you were wondering, a cuppa is the ideal accessory to pair with this ensemble. Peak cosy.

Now is a great time to support local businesses, and not only is this top ethically made using sustainable fabric, but it’s also made by a local, female-founded company based in North Shields. This classic Breton stripe top, made with butter-soft organic cotton offers exceptional comfort and will pair beautifully with any of our other picks for a truly timeless look.

Designed to emulate the laidback aesthetic of LA, this dress epitomises off-duty style in just one simple piece. The relaxed drop-waist style adds that little something extra to this staple separate. Plus, the colour will match with grey, cream, navy and black if you did want to layer up.

This ivory offering from Topshop gives off an air of relaxed elegance that could be paired with a number of looks.  This buy is simplistic enough to wear around the house in the coming weeks but will slot perfectly into your day-to-day wardrobe thereafter. The stylish square belt detail elevates it from boring jumper territory.

Thought is our go-to for stylish, ethical buys. If the thought of wearing a form-fitting dress at home feels like a monumental chore, opt for this super-soft jumpsuit made from bamboo jersey, instead. With an elasticated waist and an adjustable tie fastening, this wide-legged suit requires no effort, yet looks polished, modern and flatters all body shapes.

Wrapping yourself in rich, knitted fabrics like this feels like giving yourself a big, warm hug. And at the moment you need that more than ever. To counteract the changing temperatures throughout the day at home, layering is key. We’d wear this cardigan over sweats and a t-shirt when the sun-setting chill kicks in.

This two-pack of vests is from H&M’s conscious collection, meaning they’re made from sustainable materials – offering you the ultimate comfort from staples you can wear again and again. These go-with-everything buys are affordable, look great layered or worn alone.

A stylish t-shirt is already a must-have wardrobe staple for those throw-on-and-go days. If you need an update, we love this navy ‘Belle Vie’ slogan tee from Warehouse, which will look great French-tucked into relaxed loungewear bottoms. Ideal for when you’re #NotGoingOut.
