We don’t know about you, but when our period rolls around each month we could do with a little bit of extra self-care. As with beauty boxes, the contents varies month to month so you always get a little surprise treat, however, they guarantee that every box contains an assortment of 12 sanitary pads or tampons, something sweet to satisfy cravings, pampering products for hair or skin, relaxing teas and some feminine care products. Truly the ultimate antidote to PMS.

If you’re like me, you tend to get to the bar and panic about what cocktail you want to order and end up just choosing the same one over and over again out of fear you’ll be stuck drinking something you don’t like. Enter the Muddlebox – perfect for trying out different cocktails without the fear of wasting a perfectly good round at the bar. All you do is tell them a bit about your preferred type of cocktail – creamy, fruit, strong – and each month they’ll send you instructions and a full kit, right down to the garnish so you can shake up a batch in no time. The subscriptions range from 1-4 people, and you can choose to have them sent to you weekly or monthly. If you need us, we’ll be mixing up some Singapore Slings.

Each month you get a new craft project, including all the materials needed and step-by-step photo instructions, to try your hand at something crafty and creative. Previous boxes have included clay mobiles, scented copper candles and macramé bags. These are the perfect way to learn some new skills and end up with a beautiful homemade product at the end.

If you feel like flexing your creative muscles and trying something new each month, the ScrawlrBox is the perfect subscription box for you. Every month they’ll send you a hand-picked selection of tools and art supplies and help you to think outside the box when it comes to your artistic side. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the next Picasso or haven’t picked up a pencil since school, they’ll help you discover the artist you never knew you had inside you. Their recent boxes have offered up pastels, Gouache and watercolours and have given inspirational jumping-off points to help you create a masterpiece.

We know this might sound pricey for a monthly subscription box but hear us out – our underwear is the foundation for all of our outfits. If your underwear doesn’t fit properly or make you feel amazing, there’s only so much work your outfit can do. You even get £15 to redeem against anything on their website too, so you can get yourself an extra treat each month. You choose a “naughty” or “nice” box and receive a full lingerie set plus accessory every month. They’ve even started doing a ‘stay at home’ box, packed full of quarantine goodies including underwear, tops, face masks and couples games, so you’ll never have a dull moment again.

My Fit Fix Box

Nothing helps motivate you to work out more than a new gym outfit, so the My Fit Box subscription is perfect to help keep us exercising every month. You can opt for a Leggings Club Box (£29.99) and receive a new pair of leggings through your door every month, or upgrade to a Hero Box (£39.99) or a Gym Queen Box (£49.99) to receive more goodies. The Hero Box is definitely a worthwhile choice, as you receive three new pieces of clothing and accessories a month, plus advice and recipes – ideal for keeping us going when exercise feels like the last thing we want to do.

The Chocolatier Box

There’s nothing better than a sweet treat when you’re having a bad day, and it’s even better when you’re indulging in some luxury chocolates that you don’t even need to leave the house for. Packed full of 18 water ganache and praline chocolates across a range of flavours, we’ll definitely have a hard time saying no to these. You can even opt for the vegan alternative, so no one needs to miss out on a little indulgence every month.

Reposed Book Subscription

There’s nothing better than getting lost in a good book, but sometimes it can be overwhelming trying to decide what you want to read next. Reposed takes all the stress out of deciding on a book, so you can just sit back and relax each month with your new read. Each subscription box also comes with some carefully selected treats such as chocolates, teas and beauty products, so you can really make the most of the time to yourself. They even have a digital book club, where you can get involved in discussions with other subscribers, all for just £12.80 a month.

Lost Stock Box

Whilst not necessarily a subscription service (you only buy the box as a one-off, although you can repurchase as often as you like) these boxes are both great for the environment and for our wardrobe. Each box you buy helps to support a worker and their family who are at risk after millions of pounds worth of orders were cancelled thanks to COVID-19, leaving them without money and at risk of starvation. Every box contains approximately £70 worth of clothes and is delivered straight to your door in around 6 weeks, all you need to do is choose your size and style preference.
