From buttercups to honeybees, yellow has always been a prominent colour in summer but never so much on the high-street… until now. It seems that the entirety of the fashion world has said yes to yellow being a BIG fashion trend this season, as the hue appears to be everywhere.

And whilst many people may be too afraid to try such a unusual colour for clothing, we’re here to tell you that there are plenty of ways to make the trend work for you – whether you just want to add a subtle pop of colour, or fancying trying the colour top-to-toe.

Scroll down to see 16 of our favourite yellow pieces to shop for this season.

Let’s kick start this round-up with a ruddy good bargain: this beautiful flower print top with a sweetheart neckline and elasticated flounce-trimmed shoulder straps. Team this ‘nice top’ with white or blue jeans for a chic look, without any effort required.

We all know that throw-on dresses are a summer essential, as we previously discussed in this summer dress round-up, but this smock style really does tick all of the boxes. Lightweight? Check. Pretty pattern? Check. Effortlessly chic? Check. Team it with flat sandals for a stylish ensemble.

This is the perfect free-spirited silhouette, with its summery shade of yellow and forget me not florals. Best of all, the drawstring front makes it adjustable – making it perfect for when you end up having a big BBQ and need some extra room in your clothes to breath.

Not only will a lemon-yellow dress make you feel summer ready, but also sexy, in an understated tea-dress way. With the ruched detailing, it’s rocking up extra points for SS20 trends, too – but don’t worry, with its flattering yet basic silhouette, you’ll end up bringing this back out every summer.

If you want to smarten up your look, team this luxurious linen-mix blazer with a statement blouse and matching trousers (see below), or if you want to wear something more casual, without compromising on chicness, team it with a slogan tee and your favourite pair of jeans. With its structured design and lapel colour, it’ll give any outfit an instant style boost.

These classic mustard coloured peg trousers will add some new-season neutral style to any smart wardrobe. With their cropped design, you could wear strappy sandals for a dressed-up look or even some classic white trainers if that’s your preferred go to.

This boxy fit tee is not only ticking off one summer trend – yellow – but a second one, with its statement Peter Pan collar featuring frilly edges. For the ultimate fashionista look, team with a chunky gold necklace and classic denim-wash jeans for a look that screams, “Simple but stylish.”

If you’re after a fancy-feeling dress with a bit of femininity – then this is the one for you. In the beautiful of pale yellows, this wrap-front dress with its gathered sleeves would make for the most flattering of dresses for many occasions, including dressy days as well as future holidays and weddings. You’ll really get your money’s worth with this one.

Why not add some SS20 elegance to your fashion wardrobe with this yellow shirred top? Best of all, it features the most beautiful broderie frill detailed sleeves – making it look much more expensive than what it is. Team with white bottoms and gold jewellery for a glamorous look.

With its neat v-neck and button up front, this carefree playsuit channels a distinctively retro style. However, with its stylish feminine shape which can be created from the tie-waist, it combines both comfort and chicness in one. Literally.

This double-breasted gilet is, quite literally, doubled in uses – due to its ability to act as both a beautiful summer wrap dress as well as a standard gilet. This makes it suitable for spring, summer and autumn wear – whether you wear it solo with some strappy heels, or layer it over a white shirt and denim jeans for a warmer outfit.

Sunwashed cotton instantly gives this cardigan (or top if you’re really following the latest trend) a warm-weather glow. With its round neck, button down front and cut-out detailing at the neck and elbows, it’s safe to say this cardigan would make the perfect style staple of summer. Just pair it with some trusted denim for the most casual style.

If you haven’t heard of the environmentally friendly brand, Everlane, then you’re in luck as I’m about to introduce you to the most flattering pair of jeans. These straight leg crops have a waist-nipping high rise and well, a cropped leg – making them the most tremendous of shapes. Best of all, each pair is environmentally garment-dyed for a soft, broken-in feel oozing them of comfort.

If you’re after a summer jacket, then this boxy shape would make the perfect statement in its idyllic pastel lemon shade. Best of it, it’s made of a lightweight cotton fabric – meaning you could throw it on top of any summer jeans or light-coloured summer bottom, whilst finding comfort in the fact that you know you’re not going to get too hot.

A woman can never have too many shirts, and this is the perfect example of one that should be in every summer wardrobe. Cut from pure cotton-poplin, it makes for a clean look in one of the season’s most sought-after silhouettes: a neat collar with puffed balloon sleeves and a button-down front. Team it with high-waisted jeans or trousers, or even a skirt with some strappy sandals for a minimal look.

If you want to add a contemporary touch to your wardrobe, then a pair of gingham trousers is definitely the way to go. These slim-fit trousers have added stretch for comfort, and an ankle-grazer length making them perfect for both sandals and classic white trainers.
