HLN recommends: A winter escape to the Treehouses at Ramside Hall this Christmas
The ultimate luxurious festive staycation...
Santa might be the only one travelling this Christmas, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy a winter getaway in the run-up to Christmas, right on our doorstep.
HLN has had a sneak preview of Christmas at Ramside Hall’s iconic Treehouses and we have one word – heaven.
With availability throughout October, November and December, these luxurious treehouses offer a place to cosy up in front of the fire, sip mulled wine and spend time with loved ones.
The Treehouses can be split into one, two or three-bedroom suites and are set in the woodland with unrivalled views across the golf course, with wrap-around balconies, hot tubs and free-standing copper baths. Don’t worry, your furry family members won’t be left behind because dogs are welcome too.
One of the main benefits of the Ramside Treehouses is the ability to hideaway – with a large living space, American fridge-freezer, flat-screen TV and a gorgeous large bathroom to relax and pamper.
On the other hand, the hotel facilities are a short golden golf-buggy ride away…
Relax in the award-winning spa, chill out overlooking the golf course in the outdoor infinity pool, or enjoy a pampering massage to unwind. Ramside Spa is one of the most luxurious North East spas, so don that fluffy robe and switch off from the world.
Golf-lovers can choose between two courses, which both offer impressive views of the surrounding countryside with Durham Cathedral sitting in the distance. Playable throughout the whole year, both the Cathedral and Prince Bishops’ courses are open to members and non-members alike.
A HLN favourite for rib-eye steak and hand-cut chips, the AA award-winning Rib Room serves the finest Durham beef. Read our full review here to find out more.
Pan-Asian restaurant Fusion is attached to the spa and serves everything from afternoon tea with an oriental twist to lunch and evening meals. Not only that, but it’s a fabulous place to enjoy an afternoon cocktail or glass of wine.
Enjoy a breakfast hamper delivered to your door when staying in the Treehouse, with a huge amount of goodies
We stayed overnight, enjoying an afternoon in the spa and dinner in The Rib Room – the ultimate luxury staycation.
We actually found that we wanted more time just relaxing in the Treehouse, so make sure you factor in plenty of time to sit by the fire sipping Champagne and writing your letter to Santa…
Throughout December, guests will enjoy mulled wine and mince pies on arrival.
For those looking to get away over Christmas Day, Ramside Hall also offers a residential package in the main hotel which could be the perfect home-from-home.
