No Autumn/Winter wardrobe is complete without some decent outwear, and a good coat can make or break an outfit. We found the best coats to shop this season so you can be cosy in style.

The Robe Coat

A robe coat is a timeless classic that never goes out of style. It’s effortlessly chic and immediately makes even the most basic outfit look luxe. Stick with neutral oclours to ensure it never goes out of fashion, or if you’re feeling daring, try it in a bold colour to really make a statement.

Uniqlo Women Ines Wool Blend Coat – £79.90

This Uniqlo version looks like it should be WAY pricier than it is – even before it was in the sale at a steal of £79.90. The neutral colour and subtle details around the neckline make it look high end, and it would be perfect with some knee high boots and a light coloured mini dress underneath.

Arket Belted Alpaca and Wool Coat - £190

The wool and alpaca blend will make this one of the cosiest coats you have this season, and the belted nature makes you feel like you’re leaving the house in essentially a luxurious dressing gown. It’s available in black and beige, however we think this beige colour is easier to pair with any outfit – you can easily wear it with everything from blue denim, to cream trousers, to a little black dress.

The Trench Coat

A good trench coat never goes out of style, and you can actually wear them year round thanks to their lightweight, effortless style. A classic trench is usually a light tan or beige and comes to just below your knee, but as with anything there’s so many options out there if you want to spice things up a bit – try a leather or mock croc, or pick a bright colour to boost a basic ensemble. If you’re after the classics though, there’s plenty of affordable options.

The Longline Puffer Coat

People seem to shy away from the longline puffer for fear they’ll either be swamped by it, or that it’ll make them look too old – maybe it conjures up images of our grandmas in their housecoats? Longline puffer’s actually look great on any shape and height – try to find one that hits somewhere around mid-shin to make it look intentionally oversized. If you’re worried about looking too bulky, keep your outfit under it fitted – think skinny jeans and a fitted shirt or jumper.

Nike Statement Down Longline Parka – £210

This Nike down-filled coat is perfect for a sporty vibe, and its neutral colour means it goes with any outfit. Your favourite jeans and some ankle boots will help stop it looking too casual, or you can lean into its athleisure feel with some wet look leggings and trainers.
