Christmas Eve Gift Guide 2020

Born Wild Childrenswear

At Born Wild Childrenswear, they believe children are born to be wild, to live a life of adventure and explore their creativity. The founder, Lisa Willis started learning to sew while on maternity leave in 2018, and then officially started Born Wild in May 2020, after resigning her post as a deputy headteacher. Isobel (4) helps Lisa choose the materials to use for her products to ensure only the best has been chosen. All her patterns and designs are chosen by children, for children, resulting in colourful imaginative and fun designs, which parents and children alike fall in love with. All the materials are super soft, chemical-free organic fabric which is OEKO-TEX certified, and each piece has love and care weaved into it with beautiful and unique rainbow stitching.

Heather & Bale

A private family-owned company working in the heart of Northumberland, Heather and Bale work directly with local independent artisan producers to design and create their range of Luxury Hampers and Gifts.

The visual presentation is very important to Heather and Bale when creating their hampers. The priority is sourcing the highest quality products, but they know that they are creating a “wow” moment when their hampers are opened and experienced for the first time by the lucky recipient.  They work hard on this part of the service because they recognise that their business is more than just putting random products together.  They carefully research flavours, food and wine pairing and design their hampers based on how these products will be experienced and enjoyed collectively.

Grate Newcastle

If you’re in need of a cheeky cheese fix this Christmas, look no further. Local independent Grate Newcastle have an un-brie-lievable selection of local, regional and continental cheeses and accompaniments for all your festive cheeseboard desires.

Founder Moz’s cheeseboard: “I would want something a little bit traditional and a little exciting. Something like a West Country Farmhouse Cheddar, such as Montgomery’s, and a good wedge of Colston Bassett Stilton – you can’t go wrong there! But I’d mix in a washed rind sheep’s milk like St James, which is in the same vein as Taleggio. Finally, a lovely, soft goats cheese like Sinodun Hill or Ticklemore for all-round tastiness.”
