Shop for happy things with Dragonfly Cancer Trust

The small Newcastle charity has kept going throughout lockdown and are now busier than ever helping young palliative cancer patients. But they need funds if they’re to continue with their amazing work

One of the many hard-hitting effects the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to our region has been the cancellation of fund-raising events and the closure of charity shops. With so many amazing North East charities making such a difference to local families, this has been devastating, and many organisations have simply had to carry on as best they can without this much-needed support from the public.

Luckily, however, one of those incredible charities – Dragonfly Cancer Trust, based in Newcastle – has maintained a simple yet effective way of keeping some cash flowing into their donation boxes: online shopping.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust supports young palliative cancer patients throughout the region: helping them to make lasting memories with their loved ones by organising experiences and short breaks; creating unique keepsakes to help them and their families focus on happier times; and delivering creative therapies and activities to children’s cancer wards to offer an essential distraction.

We think you’d agree that there are few more worthy causes than supporting children through gruelling cancer treatment. What we especially love about the Trust is their focus on positive vibes only, and their online retail offering is no exception. They encourage visitors to ‘Shop for Happy Things’ with a fantastic array of cool, quirky and colourful gifts guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

So what are you waiting for? Check out Dragonfly Cancer Trust’s Shop for Happy Things already.
