
HLN Kids Take 2020 Toys for a Spin

The High Life North kids thought Christmas had come early when HLN Editor Laura asked them to test the top 2020 Christmas toys and report back their findings. Taking their job seriously and equipped with nothing but their imagination they began the job any child would dream of, toy testing.

STOY Parking Garage – £60
Heidi loves the STOY Parking Garage. Its a well-built wooden toy and great for children who love playing with cars and garages. The garage has a design with three levels. It has painted parking spaces.

Cry Babies are great toys
Heidi loves both that she has tested. She enjoyed the Magic Tears Winged House as she could apply the stickers herself and she uses the doll from that set as the larger dolls baby.

The Malong Soft Toys
The Malong Soft Toys are brilliant, they are lovely and soft and have a marshmallow feeling. Heidi takes hers that she tested everywhere and because they are so soft you can squeeze them into a bag or under the pram.

Snapsies – £7.99
These are Snapsies, they are great fun and each one is a surprise. They come with two different faces and you can change it so it will either have legs or a tail meaning children can change them up themselves.

STOY vet set – £19
This is vet Jasmine trying out the STOY vet set, she absolutely loved it as she has a great caring nature, she knew exactly what each instrument was for and loved using it on her teddys. The STOY Vet set is designed to let children care for their stuffed animals in sustainable style with a fun wooden vet set, complete with a fabric bag that makes it easy to take the set on the go.

Break the Board – £14.99
Frankie was our tester for Break the Board, it was great fun its a challenging game great for the older children and also adults. Break the Board is the hard- hitting, fast action electronic game that lets you become a Karate Master! Follow the lights and Chop, Strike, and Swipe your way through level after level

Boom City Racers – £29.99
Leo and Lucas enjoyed testing Boom City Racers, they found it very entertaining and loved waiting for the fireworks to shoot up. Boom City Racers are the collectable cars that rip out of their fireworks rocket launcher and explode apart on impact, each car is powered by rip cord, the harder you rip, the bigger the smash.

Pencil Nose – £14.99
Pencil Nose is great fun for all the family, Tasie spent most of her night playing the game and found it very entertaining. The idea of the game is to draw a specific picture on the board with the pencil attached to your nose using the glasses provided, there was lots of fun and laughter in the Imrie-Bell household.

Spotty Sausage Dogs
We love teacher tested games for child development and Spotty Sausage Dogs is perfect fun for the whole family. The aim of the game is to build the spotty sausage dog with the most spots, simply spin the spinner, match the card, add to your sausage dog then count the spots. Perfect educational game.

STOY Baking Set – £33
Jasmine was delighted to try out the STOY Baking Set, she found it was so much fun and her favourite part was the whisk!

Fuzzikins Ice Cream Van Bag – £14.99
This Fuzzikins Ice Cream Van Bag is great fun, Tasie loved that you can style and design the bag anyway you like, wash it off and then style it again. The bag converts into a standing ice cream van so once you’ve crafted your perfect colour scheme you can then play shops and pick up an ice cream.

Curligirls – £9.99
Curligirls is on most Christmas lists this year. Tasie tested out a Curlygirl and now has added more to her Santa list. You can stretch the hair to create amazing, tight curls and style with cute hair accessories to get the look you want.

EDX Geostix
Jasmine loved being creative with Geostix. They came with instructions to make different shapes, letters and numbers, or you can be creative and design your own which was more Jasmine’s style.

EDX Rainbow Pebbles
Tasie loved recreating the pebble design from the cards in the pack, the colours are perfect for learning through play. As well as choosing different activity cards to follow there was also lots of creative free play. We had lots of fun, especially as the pebbles were built into piles.

Peppa Pot – £9.99
Heidi really enjoyed her Peppa Pot, she loved adding the compost, planting the seeds and watering it herself. Peppa Pots are brilliant for children who love the garden. They come in a selection of designs.
