Go Big to Stay Home: The Wide Leg Trousers We Can’t Get Enough Of

By Grace Cassidy
As we continue to work from home, our jeans fade further and further into the realms of a past memory and comfortable trousers (including pyjama bottoms –we’re all guilty), have become the new go-to.
But as Boris announced earlier this week, our working-from-home days are now (hopefully) numbered. The question is, are we ready for a return to the jean life once more?
But wait! What’s that glimmer of hope in the distance?! Enter: the wide-leg trouser.
After being showcased in the Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney and Chanel digital shows last September, wide-leg trousers are set to be everywhere this spring. Get ahead of the trend with our top picks…

Missguided
Missguided now has an array of wide-leg trousers to shop, but our favourite is the borg trouser which, handily enough, is on sale. Available in mocha and black, soft to the touch and ridiculously warm and cosy, their cold-day versatility is endless.
We’re also big fans of the co-ord split hem tailored trouser, available in blue and sage green. The extra detail in the hemline adds a fun, current twist on the classic.
Missguided, borg wide leg trousers, £15.75
Missguided, Co-ord split hem tailored trousers, £19.50

Zara
Another online store where you’re guaranteed to find success in the wide-leg trouser department is Zara.
And while we’re here for their asymmetric variety – which has a front crossover that really makes these trousers stand out from the crowd – we’re also suckers for a classic, which is why we’d go for their plain wide-leg trouser time and again. Available in black, mauve, and beige, there’s a style to suit us all.
Zara, Wide leg asymmetric trousers, £27.99
Zara, Wide leg trousers, £19.99

H&M
We’re loving H&M’s ribbed take on the look. Available in light beige and cream, we reckon they’re the easiest to dress up or down; we can already picture our ‘coming out of lockdown’ outfits and these feature heavily!
All we’re starting to question now is why we ever wore jeans in the first place…
