These Boots Are Made for Walking… Back Into Normality

By Madyson Ciaraldi
The days are getting longer, the temperature is creeping up and the beer gardens are back open – it’s safe to say summer is approaching, and fast.
But don’t think summer meals ditching your winter boots for sandals. At least, it doesn’t have to mean that. Boots are in all year long – and we’re here for it.

WHAT’S UP, DOC?
Could we really start an article about boot trends without including the classic Dr Martens? These failsafes can work with any outfit from winter right through to the summer months thanks to the recent ‘flatform’ trend. Style with a bright summer dress to nail that flirty, funky fit.

PUT ‘EM UP
The last couple of years have been nothing but surprises, but we confess we still didn’t see the cowgirl trend coming. Even Gucci have featured some colourfully embellished western style boots in their most recent collections. So it seems fair to say that 2021 is to be a year of going above and beyond with bright, playful patterns and anything a little wild. Wild western, to be exact.

WHITE FEVER
It’s no secret that the ‘70s have made an epic return in the last few months. We’re seeing everything from flares and funky patterns to satin headscarves and waft fringes reemerge – and we’re absolutely loving it.
These timeless white boots capture that vintage Saturday Night Fever vibe effortlessly, with a square heel and toe that would look incredible under a pair of flares or a floral mini-dress.

BEST OF THE FEST
Ok, so not all of our favourite festivals are returning just yet (we miss you Glasto!), but if you’ve gained a passion for the outdoors during lockdown that you want to nod as you return to normality then these cropped Hunter wellies in hummingbird pink are the perfect blend between comfort, style and peak pastel.

ON YOUR BIKER
Finally, these amazing cut-out biker boots from Kurt Geiger would be a phenomenal addition to any spring wardrobe. The cut-out detail on the side almost reminds us of a sandal, meaning they’d be practical during the warmer months too. The embellished silver detailing also adds that edgy feel while the block heel could easily help dress up a casual daytime fit. We’d wear these with a white dress and a leather jacket for a low-key rebellious beer garden outfit. ‘Cos we can’t be tamed like that.
