Coats and Jackets we love (and need) right now

Because as much as we wish it was sunny, we're all still reaching for outerwear...

We don’t know about you, but especially since we’re still drinking and dining outside, layering is essential right now.

Whether we’re lucky enough to have weather warm enough for a shacket, or we’re in full-on puffa jacket mode, we’ve scoured the internet to find our favourite pieces to keep us cosy while cradling our cocktails.

The Chanel-inspired blazer

This is a jacket that transitions the seasons – we’re just as likely to be wearing this to festive drinks as we are for spring catch-ups this month. A super-stylish Chanel dupe, we’ll be buying oversized and wearing with a black hoodie underneath.

The stylish throw-on waterproof

HLN’s Rosie is the trend-setter with this one. A steal at £29.99, this is the ideal lightweight waterproof to throw on when it’s showery weather. It feels really high quality – size up to wear over jumpers to stay warm.

The Barbour we all need in our life

We love this versatile piece which is part of Barbour’s collaboration with Alexa Chung. Super high-quality and guaranteed to be an investment piece, this is a fresh take on Barbour’s iconic Durham jacket, styled with a generous hood, large pockets and overlaid storm shoulder detail. Available in Navy, Khaki and Cream.

The perfect throw-on shacket

Lightweight and super stylish, this is a shacket that will look just as good over a summer dress as it will with jeans and a jumper. With a nod to this season’s patchwork trend, this is guaranteed to add something different to any outfit. Also available in Black.

Superdry – Crafted Shacket – £89.99

The chic puffer

The belt on this Holland Cooper puffa jacket adds a touch of glam if you’re heading somewhere fancy but still want (need) to stay warm. Be aware that Holland Cooper sizes quite small, so we suggest sizing up, especially if you’re planning on layering underneath.

The faux fur beaut

Jules B is an HLN favourite for alternative brands. This gorge faux fur piece from Rino and Pelle will look super stylish with black skinny jeans (or let’s be honest right now, leggings). It’s got an amazing 70% off so act quickly.

Puffer, but spring

We don’t know if we’ve been living under a rock, but we’ve just discovered the website na-kd.com – which offers a really intuitive shopping experience with items other people in the beer garden won’t have, at a reasonable price. You can filter by sustainable items too (like this jacket) and it offers free climate compensated shipping and returns. Not only do we love the colour and style of this jacket, but its eco-credentials are impressive, made from plastic production leftovers, plastic bottles, nylon fishing nets and other plastic waste.

Na-kd – Purple Padded Jacket – £64.95

Have you heard of flowerdown?

Another sustainable brand we’ve just discovered is Pangaia, which has mind-blowing science behind the production of its clothing. We’re talking grape leather trainers, dye created from air pollution and its trademarked FLWRDWN™ which is a thermal insulation made from, you guessed it, flowers. This jacket is really lightweight and designed to be a spring jacket. They’re fitted pretty tightly around the chest we recommend gals with bigger (or actually, just average) busts, size up.

Pangaia – Lite Puffer Jacket – £309.00

Because floral patchwork is in…

This little bargain from Pull&Bear is ideal to throw on with jeans or over the top of a summer dress to keep the chill off. Yes, it looks like your Nana could have sewn it together, but apparently, that look is very in right now…we’re sold.
