Meet the team behind HLN’s first fashion shoot

Let us introduce you to the incredible team of North East creatives who’ve helped bring HLN’s first fashion shoot to life…

Miss K – Photographer

Feelgood photographer Kristina Leikaite – professionally known as Miss K Shoots – was the legend behind the lens for this shoot.

Already the proud curator of a varied and fiercely loyal client base here in the North East, when she’s not shooting her shot (which, to be fair, is pretty much aaaall the time right now), Kristina tends to be found anywhere outside, running or walking with her super-cute Shiba Inus, Kobe and Kami.

Her vision for the HLN shoot in a word? ‘Zazzy!’

Laura Oddity – Make Up Artist and Hair Stylist

Maybe it’s the fact that she trained down under at Sydney College of Hair and Beauty, or maybe it’s just because she’s just the epitome of chill, but Laura’s all about that natural, dewy make up vibe and beachy, cool-girl waves.

What drives her? Making sure you feel like you – just at your best.

Let us tell you from first-hand experience, her work isn’t effortless in the slightest. But her results sure are.

Virgit Canaz – Model

Fashion blogger and founder of Preppy Fashionist Virgit originally trained as a nursery teacher, but her eye for style and a passion for fashion meant that starting her own blog was always going to be an inevitability.

A cool 5.3 million views on Google later, as well as a cheeky 89,000 followers on Instagram (and counting), and it’s safe to say that Virgit has more than established herself in the fashion world.

Originally from Ecuador and having spent around half of her life in Amsterdam, Virgit now calls Newcastle home. Because… well, why wouldn’t you?

Evion Yee – Model

Currently studying Economics at Durham University, Evion manages to balance a demanding academic schedule with stretching her creative wings at various modelling and photography projects.

Evion is also a trained dancer and her natural athleticism more than lends itself to model life.

Having posed for shoots for everything from athleisure to wigs, Evion believes the most important thing to her about modelling is being able to explore the different ways she can present herself to the world.

Wallis Senior – HLN Reader / Model

Avid HLN reader Wallis first heard about our fashion shoot on Instagram and wasted no time getting in touch to see if she could get involved.

With a lifelong ambition of getting in front of a lens – and a budding fashion-fabulous Instagram following of her own – the HLN shoot was the debut modelling gig Wallis has long been dreaming of, but had never quite had the confidence to pursue before. And we’re pretty sure it won’t be her last…

‘Lockdown has really made me reconsider my purchasing habits and, wherever possible, I’m going to be shopping locally from now,’ she told us. ‘And HLN has made me realise just how many unbelievable North East brands we have on our doorstep!’

Watch this space.

Ben Hale and Connor Griffin, Edge Film – Filmmakers and BTS photographers…

…also, our new best friends.

Film, photo and animation studio Edge are the creative geniuses (genii?!) that have really brought this shoot to life for you lovely readers. Although we guess we should start calling you ‘viewers’ now too…

The Edge team has top-class experience in bucketloads, having worked around the world-leading film productions from Singapore to LA.

Capturing exclusive interviews, make up tutorials and cracking BTS content from the day of our shoot, (stay tuned for the bloopers, there are plenty!), these guys aren’t scared of getting in your face – and we love it.
