Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2021 UK & Ireland Final is one of the most exciting and prestigious competitions in the haircare industry. And the North East’s very own Erin Marley is working hard to make sure our region is in the running for the top prize

Hairdressing has always been in Erin’s blood, so it was little surprise when she decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps to become a hairdresser herself, dedicating her life to making women feel good about themselves in the process. After opening her salon, Rein & Co Hairdressing in North Shields, Erin is now on a mission to constantly grow her skills.

And all her hard work has now paid off, as she is competing against the best hairdressers that the UK and Ireland have to offer.

‘I’m over the moon to have come this far,’ says Erin. ‘It’s such a big deal in my industry and I’m so thrilled that my little salon in North Shields is competing. When I found out I was going to the final, I did shed a little tear!

‘My salon is not known for the short, funky haircuts, but I knew it was something I wanted to do more of, so that’s why I entered the Craft Artist Category. I knew if I was too scared to do something new, I wouldn’t grow and learn anything from it. Hairdressing’s more than just a job to me. It has given me a purpose in life and a passion when I felt like I had none. Making people feel amazing is addictive and so fulfilling. I’ll never get bored of it. I’ll always keep pushing myself to my limits and growing in this industry – this is just the beginning for me!’

Erin and the other lucky finalists have already made it through the initial first photographic stage of the competition, before having competed at the UK & Ireland Digital Semi Finals, too. Now the next and only step left is today’s final, which marks a triumphant return for hairdressers everywhere after such a challenging time for the industry.

And it will take place at its traditional home – London’s iconic Roundhouse. Here, finalists will be put to the test and judged by some of the industry’s most prestigious names. Expect an industry gathering that’ll bring the best of UK & Ireland’s hairdressing together in a truly momentous event. A celebrity host will present the evening’s celebrations, including some incredible exclusive hair shows by some of Wella’s leading artists.
