It’s sweater weather – here are the 20 jumpers we’re obsessed with
The new trending knits for A/W 21…
Sweaters become an integral part of our autumnal outfits’ year upon year; as the leaves transition into sunset shades, our everyday-wear also makes a shift in preparation for the cooler weather.
Soft, cosy knitwear feels like a comfort as the nights get darker and temperatures drop, and this season there’s an abundance of cuts, colours and patterns to suit everyone’s style. Thanks to some clever design details, wearing the equivalent of a hug in an outfit doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice looking stylish.
On the autumn runways, there was elegant knitwear shown in candy colours at Ellery, classic cable knits in earthy tones at Etro, exaggerated sleeves at Bottega Veneta, thick, soft separates at Nanushka and thinner, rib knit styles at Loewe. The devil was in the detail on many of the catwalks, with luxe-looking cutout jumpers making a statement at Burberry, fur-lined sleeves standing out at Saint Laurent and interwoven ribbons knits catching our attention at Jason Wu.
As well as designer styles, independent brands on the good old high street have come up trumps with their knitwear this season, offering an abundance of ways for you to work the key trends without breaking the bank. And we’ve done the legwork for you – searching high and low for the pieces that will up your cold-outfit game for the foreseeable future. Whether you opt for a chunky warm wool or cosy poloneck in a vintage print, know this is the fall trend to get behind.
