We’re copying these NE influencer’s cold-weather outfits…

6 winning winter looks, and the pieces to recreate them.

It’s easy to get stuck in a winter dressing rut.

Solving the cold snap conundrum of what to wear is difficult when mornings are dark, energy is low and it’s so tempting to just don your thread-bare black jumper and jeans for the millionth time. But we’re here to tell you that dressing for the cold weather needn’t fill you with dread – in fact, creating winter looks can be just as fun as your spring wardrobe, with a little inspiration.

When we’re lacking ideas for winter outfits, we look to our favourite influencers to show us how they’re styling the current trends IRL. The following fashionistas prove it’s possible to look sleek and stylish for A/W, thanks to getting creative with layering, accessories, outerwear and adding in our personal favourite element – chunky winter boots.

To offer you some easy outfit inspiration for chilly days, we’ve broken down the looks of six of the North East’s most fashionable ladies, who have inspired us to not only fill the gaps in our wardrobes with the key pieces below, but also to fall in love with items we already own, styling them with a winter ’21 twist.

Charissa Rae

@charissarae

Steal Charissa’s look by adding a trending checkered coat over your winter ‘fit – you won’t regret investing in great outerwear when you know the abundance of outfits it can elevate.

Winter doesn’t have to automatically mean a uniform of dark hues, either. We love that Charissa has layered her Zara coat over a white dress, which could be layered with tights as the temperature drops. Layering with tights and a jumper over a dress is a clever way to winter-proof your summer staples and helps you get the most wear out of midi dresses.

Chic accessories like Charissa’s ‘70s-style top bar sunglasses add a fun, stylish element to a chilly-day look. Plus, the shades will shield from that low winter sun. We love the subtle clash of the check print coat with the leopard loafers here; don’t be afraid to mix up patterns with your accessories this season. Consider us inspired.

Charlotte Laverick

@charlottelaverickx

Charlotte makes the case that a white shirt + a sweater vest + ‘90s sunnies = the ideal weekend outfit. A sleeveless knit feels contemporary when paired with trending accessories like Charlotte’s.

The ‘90s are having a fashion moment RN, and we’ll be imitating Charlotte’s look with JW PEI’s cream shoulder bag and skinny sunnies. Great basics like this crisp white shirt are the secret weapon in any winter wardrobe, as they can be styled in so many different ways. And when it comes to layering, all we can say is: snuggly knitwear, come at us.

Renia Jaz

@venswifestyle

A statement puffer jacket gets the influencer stamp of approval here. Renia looks every bit winter ready in her all-black ensemble. Whilst we’ll be praying Santa brings us Renia’s JW Anderson hobo bag, in the meantime we’ll be working the look with New Look’s inspired-by version. Playing with proportions by adding an oversized bag like this to a look with tailored trousers and a sleek polo neck makes this look a standout success.

We’ll also be investing in All Saints luxurious roll neck jumper, knowing we’ll be wearing it under our coats and jackets all winter long.

Virgit Canaz

@preppyfashionist

Don’t underestimate the power of a great tailored outfit this winter. Adding a classic coat like Virgit’s to your wardrobe means you’ll always feel prim and polished; we love La Redoute’s subtle, checked version.

We’re taking another leaf out of the preppy fashionist’s book and treating ourselves to a tan bag this season, too. After all, the autumnal shade goes with everything. Instead of repeat-wearing the same old leggings, try a tailored trouser to see you through the cold snap instead.

Claire Ramshaw

@claire.a.ramshaw

We love how Claire has embraced tonal dressing, matching her taupe H&M cardigan to her jumper and leggings. Slick-looking New Balance trainers are not only a stylish and comfortable option, but make this look work for the weekend.

Great accessories are always in the fashion pack’s outfit repertoire, and we’ll be twinning Claire in her tortoiseshell sunnies, silver chain necklace and black tote. Winter never looked more luxe.

Holly Gee

@hollgee

Take note: chunky boots are in. Steal Holly’s style with Schuh’s black pull on pair – ideal for crunching through the falling leaves. Again, layering is key to a trending look, so we’ll be adding a cream poloneck knit to our basket ASAP, wearing under our favourite checkered coat.

Make like Holly and pair opposing textures together, as she has done with leather and knitwear, to add instant interest to any outfit. Not only will you be feeling warm and looking wonderful, you’ll also be nailing the latest trends, too. If you’re eyeing up these Ted Baker’s leather shorts, Holly showcases how easily patterned tights can take your winter looks to the next level. We love the impact of the feminine polka dot set against the bold croc-pattern boots.
