Imagine the scene: it’s Christmas Eve. The daylight is just fading and the cool, December air is humming with excitement. Your car pulls up to a majestic Victorian estate festooned with fairy lights and the promise of towering trees and roaring fires inside.

You take out your bags, knowing that the whole Christmas weekend is stretching out in front of you: decadently festive feasts, mulled wine and mince pies; bracing walks along the coast or in the rolling estate grounds and woodland; soaking away the seasonal stress in some indulgent spa treatments; and the choice of enjoying the live entertainment and parties of the season, or cosying up and ordering generous grazing platters with room service.

Now, we just have one quick question – why are you just imagining? Especially when you make that vision a reality this Christmas at Raithwaite Sandsend.

Nestled between the sea and the Yorkshire moors, this gorgeous Victorian estate boasts stylish suites, a home-grown restaurant, plenty of indulgent spa treatments and a whole host of adventures just waiting to be enjoyed – and never more so than at Christmas.

Right next to the stretch of sand tucked in the heart of Yorkshire’s heritage coastline and overlooked by the romantic ruins of Whitby Abbey, Raithwaite Sandsend has ample space for couples, families, groups and four-legged friends to see in the season like never before.

And with cloud-like beds to sink into at the end of long day exploring, luxuriating or celebrating, stylish bathrooms where you can soak away any seasonal stress, elegant dining areas and views for days, everything is right where you need it here. All you need to do is turn up, drop your bags and enjoy the festivities.

Book to stay at Raithwaite Sandsend over the Christmas weekend and enjoy all this…

On Christmas Eve…

Arrive at your leisure and kick off the festivities with a glass of mulled wine, a glass of port and a cheeky slice of Christmas flapjack.

Shortly after, it’ll be time to enjoy a delicious sparkling cream tea – like only a Victorian estate of this calibre can produce.

Start your evening with a pre-dinner drink, which will be served to you in The Restaurant. You’ll then tuck into a delicious three-course dinner, which will be rounded off with tea, coffee and petit fours.

A live musician will be adding to the seasonal ambience by performing throughout the evening.

Mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine will also be available in The Bar for any guests returning from midnight mass.

On Christmas Day…

Start the big day the right way with a hearty breakfast – including a glass of Orchard Fizz, of course!

You can then spend the rest of the morning being as active or indulgent as you wish. After all, it is Christmas.

As your reservation for the main event nears, make your way to The Restaurant for canapés and a glass of Champagne.

A sumptuous three-course Yorkshire Christmas lunch will then be served. If you would like a specific bottle of wine to accompany your lunch, you can even pre-order them with the Raithwaite team when you submit your menu choices.

Spend Christmas Day afternoon at your leisure. The Queen’s speech will be televised and a Christmas quiz will take place alongside the relaxed, light buffet served that evening. If you wish to remain relaxed in your bedroom, a room service cheese and charcuterie board can be delivered at an allocated time.

On Boxing Day…

A delicious Boxing Day breakfast will set you up for the day ahead.

Spend the rest of your morning relaxing at your leisure, however you wish.

Between 12pm–3pm, recharge with Raithwaite’s Ploughman’s Christmas Platter selection, which will be served within The Restaurant.

Guests are then invited to have a leisurely stroll (and spot the seals!), before heading back to the hotel for an afternoon of Christmas movies in the Raithwaite Suite. Luxury hot chocolate and movies snacks will also help set the scene.

Dinner that evening will be another sumptuous three-course menu served in The Restaurant, with entertainment provided throughout the evening.
