After experimenting with various plant-based waxes, they finally settled on an eco-friendly, vegan, all-natural rapeseed wax sourced from within the UK, as well as in mainland Europe. Crucially, this means that it doesn’t have to travel nearly half as far as most soy does, which is predominantly grown on the other side of the globe –around 80% of the world’s soy is produced in the USA, Brazil and Argentina.

Sustainability is important to Toasty Candles, whose reed diffusers are made using a vegan solvent produced from renewable plant-based sources of glycerine and are supplied with high-quality rattan reeds. All their products are shipped in plastic-free cardboard boxes using kraft paper tape and shredded cardboard, which can be recycled or composted.

But that’s not to say they sacrifice quality or lack home décor flair. With fragrances ranging from fruity to floral and conjuring everything from winter woodland wonder to tropical warmth and lustre, Toasty Candles have plenty of scents to choose from. And why wouldn’t you? After all, is there anything cosier on a dark, winter’s night than snuggling up under a blanket, with a hot chocolate in one hand and your favourite book in the other, next to the flickering glow of a scented candle? We think not.
