For the bride who wants to feel dreamy and effortless on her wedding day, a boho wedding dress achieves a style that evokes a sense of wonder and captures your free-spirited personality.
There’s something so romantic about bohemian wedding dresses. With loose-fitting silhouettes, detailed lace and delicate flutter sleeves your timeless boho bride look will be still on-trend when you flick through your photo album in years to come.
But it can be so hard to find the perfect dress that doesn’t fall into the traditional category. That’s why mother and daughter duo, Rita and Jade, opened Rare Bridal Studio after noticing there were very few relaxed fit, unique and alternative wedding gowns in the North East during Jade’s wedding dress hunt.
Now they bring modern, fashion-forward and alternative bridal wear to the region all from exclusive designers that can’t be found anywhere else. Whether you’re after a wedding dress, jumpsuit or separates, Rare Bridal is home to a special selection of bridal wear that is made with a relaxed and laid-back boho style. And even if you feel off-the-rack dresses aren’t still 100% you, you can design your dream gown with the Rare Bridal team, where you can choose fabric, add details or make alterations that’ll bring your vision to life.
We caught up with the owner of Rare Bridal Jade Johnson to find out what are the secrets to becoming a beautiful boho bride…

Why do brides go for this minimalistic bohemian style?
This style is very popular with our brides because they generally feature a modern lace fabric with modern, relaxed cuts making it a very comfortable dress or separates to wear but combined with bold patterns and a unique look.
What do you love about this trend?
We love this trend firstly because the fabrics are amazing! The designers have sourced the most beautiful designs to create their pieces with. There are no limits to the designs. Some pieces are sleek and modern, but some go all out with fringing and tassel ties. The different looks are limitless so you can be a boho bride and be true to yourself and your own style.
What are the perfect accessories for this look?
We absolutely love a flower crown or a floral fedora hat- especially if it incorporates some dried flowers. But for the brides who want to strip it back, we think a few hairpins for an up-do or a headband if your hair down looks great with our pieces.

5 TOP TIPS TO BECOME A BOHEMIAN BRIDE
1. Choose a bold or dramatic lace
Whether you go for applique, croquet or broderie anglaise, this delicate fabric provides a striking focal point and is representative of a bohemian bride’s romantic side.
2. Add some tassels or fringing
Fringes and tassels are the perfect way to add drama to your wedding dress. Or if you’d rather add small touch add fringe jewellery, shoes and hair accessories.
3. Go for an effortless and relaxed fit
Free-spirited boho bride, there’s nothing that look more angelic than a relaxed fit to get the chic look. Plus, you’ll have the added bonus of being comfy all day.
4. Add some relaxed dramatic sleeves
Statement sleeves are always a popular choice – whether you want them for warmth, modesty or a bit more coverage. Sleeves on a bohemian wedding dress can add even more of a vibe, especially if you go for a balloon or bell sleeve.
5. Keep the hair relaxed and tie in some matching accessories, choose something that moves freely
Fit in with the boho-chic vibes by styling your hair with loose waves and adding accessories like a feather crow, pearls, a braid or a flower headband.
