5 new openings in and around Newcastle that we’ll be visiting this month
A new cheeky cocktail bar at the coast, a tantalising tasting menu, and a music club with popular Prohibition-style evenings… Here are the North East’s new openings.

Arthur’s Restaurant & Music Club
Fenwick (Floor 1), 39 Northumberland Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7AS
It’s all happening at Fenwick this year. After marking their 140th anniversary, we don’t blame them for continuing the celebrations to mark this special milestone. Now they’re giving us a chance to step back in time to the 1920s with the launch of their Prohibition-style evenings.
Here you’ll be wined and dined, entertained by smokin’ hot music and immersive experiences, and can even tuck into a spot of afternoon tea. Shake out your tassels, pull out your best Charleston moves and indulge in a clandestine revival of the Roaring Twenties.
HLN TOP TIP: Tickets are on sale now for two evening events with drinks, a three-course dinner with wine, plus entertainment from Michael Lamb’s Strictly Smokin’ Tiny Big Band.
