Ask A Bride: ‘Don’t feel bad about being cut-throat with the guest list – it’s your day, not theirs!’

The next instalment in our Ask A Bride series sees us catch up with boho bride Rhiannon, whose decision to hire a wedding coordinator was ‘worth its weight in gold’.

Is there anything you wish you’d known before planning your wedding day?
Try to enjoy the planning process. It doesn’t have to be stressful! Stick to a decision once you’ve made it, (as long as you’ve done the research beforehand). Our wedding coordinator was worth her weight in gold; if you’re hiring a planner or coordinator, make sure you feel 100% comfortable to ask any minor questions or requests. And don’t feel bad about being cut-throat with the guest list, either – it’s your day, not theirs!
Your wedding had a boho style. Was that easy to bring together with your different suppliers?
Yes! I did a lot of Instagram and Pinterest inspo-gathering and had a really clear vision of what I wanted. After that, it seemed like everything just fell into place. We also added a lot of personal touches and DIY items, which added to the laidback, boho styling of the day.
What was your favourite memory of the big day?
It’s so hard to choose my favourite memory, I loved every minute! But just having everyone who was important to us in one room, all there to celebrate, was absolutely amazing.
Your photographer was Rosie Davison – how special was it to have her working your wedding day?
Rosie was incredible! She never stopped all day and captured the atmosphere, our friends, family and us so perfectly. She fitted into the wedding party and made everyone feel so comfortable throughout the day. She was totally flexible with the ideas we had, but also offered guidance and advice – meaning the photos are just stunning! We’ll cherish them forever.
