From being a real focal point at your wedding to making an iconic Insta-worthy moment of cutting the cake, a beautiful wedding cake is a very important part of your big day.

Although we all know that the tasting and eating part won’t be a problem in the planning process, it isn’t always going to be a piece of cake when it comes to deciding what type of cake is right for you.

Whether you’re dreaming of a rustic semi-naked wedding cake or you’re after a minimalistic and modern masterpiece, we know just the North East wedding cake maker for you – Happy Tiers.

What really sets Happy Tiers apart is the use of unique flowers that make a dynamic statement to the cake. And you can only expect the freshest tasting wedding cake here with owner Jayne’s two-day baking rule of everything being made fresh just 48 hours prior to when you tie the knot.

Bringing nearly a decade of experience and her creative skills from her interior design background into the mix, Jayne ensures to capture every couple’s personality into the flavours of their cake – which is definitely the icing on the cake to making your special day yours.

JAYNE SHARES HER FAVOURITE CAKES FOR AUTUMN

Traditional fully iced cake

This cake is covered in full buttercream, smoothed to perfection cakes and allows the decorations to do the talking. The flowers always pop against the white background.

Rustic semi-naked cake

This is my most popular wedding cake design. This design is perfect if you don’t want too much icing and it to be more about the sponge underneath. I love styling this cake with a chocolate icing middle tier to make the cake stand out.

Modern textured cake

The heavy texture of this cake is a great way of adding to your colour scheme. Adding in different shades and a pop of silver or gold leaf just gives the cake that extra bit of class.

Classic ribbed cake

These cakes are like the traditional fully iced ones but with a twist. Adding the ribbed effect normally to the bottom and top tier adds texture and definition to the cake. It’s a good way of keeping a cake traditional but adding your own spin on it.
