Queen Vic Gosforth, 206 High Street, Gosforth, NE3 1HD

This new eatery inside The Queen Vic is bringing a Pan Asian menu to Gosforth High Street.

The tapas-style Asian-inspired small plates include chicken and vegetable gyoza, Korean fried chicken, marinated pork belly and baby back ribs.

They also have a range of traditional red and green Thai curries, a delicious sounding Massaman curry and a classic chicken katsu.

And really pushing the food fusion, they have a range of hard-shell tacos with signature fillings. Yum.

2-6 Market St, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE1 6JF

It’s finally open. Bringing its first steak house to the North East, Gaucho has transformed a Grade II listed building on Pilgrim Street into a restaurant and late-night cocktail bar.

Serving carbon-neutral steaks and Argentinian wines as well as classic cocktails. Go on a Friday and Saturday night from 7.30pm to enjoy Gaucho lates will bring an Argentinian party vibe with a DJ.

Or check out the Sunday Sessions to enjoy a bottomless Sunday roast with live music from local artists across a range of genres.

139 Grainger Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE1 5AE

The newest addition to Grainger Street, this coffee shop is getting some seriously good Google reviews already, with one visitor saying the breakfast is 10/10.

They pride themselves on serving the world’s first speciality grade Robusta coffee beans, promising a great taste for coffee lovers. We want to try the signature ‘Black Hoof’ – espresso, organic coconut milk, cinnamon, milk and micro foam – which promises to give a slow energy release throughout the day.

They also have some really interesting looking Norwegian waffles which come in all of the traditional flavours (yes, including Nutella) as well as a brown cheese and jam combination that looks delish.

Arch 12, Wellington Street, Gateshead, NE8 2AJ

If you love wine, this new wine shop and tasting bar on the Gateshead side of the High Level Bridge is for one to try.

They have a fantastic range of wines to try from around the world. Sit down and enjoy a glass (or bottle) in the tasting bar where you can while away the hours sipping and enjoying a charcuterie board.

Need a hump day pick-me-up? On Wednesday’s they have half price sharing boards when you buy a bottle from the bar menu.

Think it couldn’t get any better? Well, it’s dog friendly too. See you there.
