But one feature inside this eco-friendly hair salon that really makes a statement is captivating renaissance murals on the ceiling in Leaf’s new massage backwash zone with ambient lighting and reclining shiatsu massage basins so that you can truly get lost during your treatment.
Home in the heart of Heaton Road, Leaf Hairdressing has been owned by Katie for nearly three decades. She is passionate about being a sustainable salon and continues to keep updated with the latest trends and treatments and to help develop her talented and experienced team of stylists who specialise in balayage, styling and colour.
Providing a five-star service is at the heart of a visit to Leaf. Expect to be served a wide range of beverages, whether it be cans of soft drinks, sparkling water, Fortnum & Mason fruit teas, fresh Rombouts Coffee and decaf drinks. ETHICAL ETHOS
At the core of Leaf’s ethos is sustainability following a refit back in 2007. And one part of this process was making Aveda their main supplier whose products are vegan, cruelty-free, 97% chemical free, manufactured using 100% wind power and packaged in recycled bottles and jars.
Leaf Hairdressing has recently introduced its new botanical repair range, a revolutionary new system for strengthening hair from the inside – it really does work miracles.

WHAT’S ON AT LEAF HAIRDRESSING
Leaf has recently opened a new event space that is available to hire and will be hosting book clubs, pop-up events, life drawing classes and as an educational space. Plus, they’ve also installed a new gorgeous kitchen with a big range cooker so can now offer supper club evenings for clients, too.
After lockdown, socialising has changed with many of us now preferring more intimate, private gatherings. With a limited number of venues offering this in Newcastle, Leaf Hairdressing is proud to hire its big social space for evenings with friends which features a specially commissioned huge reclaimed oak table that seats 12 people comfortably. You’ll also have access to the new kitchen where to cook your own food on-site or bring your own chef.
