Bistro Greggs launches at Fenwick Newcastle

Greggs fine dining – could this be one of the greatest North East collabs of all time?

All of our Greggs favourites are being taken to new heights with the launch of a new pop-up restaurant, Bistro Greggs at Fenwick Newcastle this December.

Launching on Friday 1st December, and running to New Year’s Eve, Bistro Greggs will be an all-day dining destination serving breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes from 9am – 8pm.

Drawing interior inspo from the traditional bistros of Saint-Germain, expect white-clothed tables, velvet banquette seating and marble countertops, with dishes served under silver cloches by waiters in Bistro Greggs aprons and traditional white shirts and ties.

But this isn’t just Greggs served on a fancy plate.

The fine dining menu has been specially created by Fenwick Executive Head Chef, Mark Reid, and sees interpretations of our much-loved Greggs items reimagined into gastronomic masterpieces.

Breakfast and brunch highlights

Greggs Benedict – a Greggs Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt reimagined with smoked ham, poached Cacklebean eggs and a velvety Hollandaise sauce.

A Full English celebrating Greggs’ best-selling Sausage Roll alongside bacon, mushroom, tomato, baked beans and a choice of eggs. The dish also comes as a vegetarian and vegan option.

A sneak peek at what we could expect for lunch…

Think you know the iconic Greggs Festive Bake? Think again. The lunch menu at Bistro Greggs sees it served a-la-carte with duck-fat roasties, smoked pancetta, chestnuts and sprouts.

The Steak Bake, is taken to new culinary heights by being accompanied by truffled dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and almonds.

All dishes are paired with Fenwick Food Hall wines and a signature cocktail created by award winning bar, Mother Mercy – The Pink Jammie Fizz inspired by Greggs’ hard to resist iconic Pink Jammie doughnut.

High Tea for two

Guests can enjoy a three-tier sharing brunch with Peach Melba, Yum Yum Bites paired with chocolate sauce and banana, alongside a Greggs Croissant, Pain au Chocolat and an iconic Sausage Roll and Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melt.

Sweet treats

There’s also a delicious selection of sweet treats includes a Greggs Yum Yum with caramel sauce and macadamia brittle and “Tea and Cake” which presents a Greggs Christmas Cake Slice paired with an Earl Grey Créme Brûlée.

Bistro Greggs will be open daily Monday to Saturday at 9am – 8pm (last orders by 6:30pm), Sundays 10:30am – 5pm (last orders by 3:30pm) at Fenwick Newcastle, First Floor, 39 Northumberland St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7AS.
