Hot tubs, river views and calming nature: A girls’ getaway at Hidden River Cabins

If you’ve been craving a break from the daily grind, we’ve discovered the perfect spot for your next girls’ night away – Hidden River Cabins.

Nestled in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside, just a stone’s throw away from Carlisle and the Lake District, this secluded retreat promises breathtaking scenery, luxurious log cabins with hot tubs, and an escape into nature that you and your friends will cherish.

Relax in tranquillity, forget about all your worries, and create memories that’ll last a lifetime.

HLN TOP TIP: Book your stay this January, and a complimentary bottle of fizz will be waiting for you upon arrival.

SECLUDED LUXURY

Hidden River Cabins is all about creating the ultimate secluded log cabin experience. The luxury interiors of these cabins provide a warm and inviting atmosphere – the perfect winter retreat away from the cold outside world.

After a day exploring private river banks and acres of ancient woodlands, unwind by the log burner or stargaze from your hot tub overlooking the serene River Lyne. The best part? These luxury log cabins are strategically spaced apart, offering you and your friends the utmost privacy.

And because Hidden River Cabins understands that dogs need a holiday too, all cabins are dog-friendly at no additional charge. Bring your four-legged friends along for a getaway filled with freedom in the surrounding woods.

INSIDE THE CABINS

Each cabin at Hidden River Cabins is named after the surrounding wildlife – Kingfisher, Snowdrop, Bluebell, Foxglove, Roe Deer, and Otterstone – perfect for various group getaways. We had the pleasure of staying at Kingfisher Cabin, perched on a riverbank, offering a panoramic view that took our breath away.

Recently refurbished to a modern and luxurious spec, this cabin effortlessly combines cosiness, comfort and style. As you step inside, an open-plan living/kitchen area invites you to unwind and catch up by the warm wood burner.

The highlight? A private hot tub on the decking – your personal oasis to soak away worries while gazing at the star-lit sky and the gentle flow of the river, with the soothing sounds of nature.

But this cabin isn’t just a visual delight; it’s practical too. With four double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom complete with a separate bath and shower, Kingfisher Cabin accommodates up to eight guests.

We experienced one of the best nights’ sleep in ages, serenaded by the rain on the roof and the relaxing sound of the river.

Hidden River Cabins ensures a comfortable stay with essentials like luxury bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV, and a fully integrated open-plan kitchen. And for those Instagram-worthy moments (there will be many here), don’t worry about connectivity; the cabins are equipped with free WIFI.

BEYOND THE CABINS

But the experience doesn’t end with the cabins. Hidden River Cabins offers more than just a place to rest your head. Take a stroll along the private riverbank, lose yourself in acres of ancient woodland, or try your hand at fishing in the River Lyne. And if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, there are fantastic walks and biking trails to explore.

All this fresh country air is sure to make you hungry.  Head over to the onsite Hidden River Café, a critically acclaimed restaurant serving delicious meals surrounded by the picturesque Cumbrian countryside.
