JOY OF PAINTING WITH BOB ROSS

This super popular event is back at Tyne Bank Brewery. Bring out your inner Bob Ross at this fun and friendly painting workshop for all abilities. Paint along to one of Bob Ross’s tutorials and watch your masterpiece develop before your eyes as you follow his lead. All supplies are provided, so you just need to turn up. There will be two intervals so you can fuel your creativity with delicious food, beer and other beverages from Tyne Bank Brewery. 18+ only.
SUMMER SOLSTICE SUNRISE YOGA

Wake up bright and early to welcome in the summer solstice on Cullercoats beach. As the sun spreads its magic across the horizon, you’ll take part in a special beach yoga class suitable for all abilities. Dress appropriately for this changeable North East weather.

Europe’s largest funfair returns to Newcastle’s Town Moor for the 142nd year. Get excited for more than 400 rides and attractions, kids’ club shows and live music. There will also be plenty of food and drinks stalls, including all your funfair favourites and the slightly more gourmet Feast Street. If you really want to get the adrenaline pumping, try the only XXL white-knuckle ride in the UK, which whizzes you up to 47m high.

Middlesbrough will become a hub of creativity and intrigue this summer with Sonic Arts Week 2024. The event immerses audiences in a world of sound, art and the extraordinary, with a jam-packed programme of free, accessible and (mostly) family-friendly entertainment across Middlesbrough. Encounter weird and wonderful installations, soundscapes, poetry and performances that will leave you asking questions and eager to explore more.
HANNAH PERRY + PREVIEW

This exhibition presents Hannah Perry’s new body of work, which explores labour, motherhood and class. Working with various media, Hannah delves into mental and emotional health in the modern day. Her pieces reflect her own experiences growing up in a working-class family, capturing the force, violence, and trauma of transition. This psychologically charged installation will use materials associated with manual occupations in manufacturing and industry, from sheet metal and car lacquer to body wrap and hydraulics.
NORTH SHIELDS VEGAN FAIR

Head to North Shields to see some of the best vegan suppliers and foodies in the North East. Wander around 35 vegan stalls offering delicious food, quirky clothes, accessories, cosmetics and more. You can also enjoy the summer weather in the garden, where hot food will be available. Entry is by donation, with proceeds going towards Farplace Animal Rescue Centre. Whether you’re 100% vegan, vegan-curious or just want a great day out, this festival is the place to be.
THE HEATON FESTIVAL 2024

The Heaton Festival is back for another day of community fun for all ages. Relax in the setting of the beautiful park, listen to local bands, eat tasty food and grab yourself a drink. There will also be jumbo bouncy castles, craft workshops and more exciting activities for the whole family. The festival is a celebration of Heaton and its communities, with everyone welcome to come along and see what the neighbourhood has to offer.
