Begin your walk at the main entrance of Alnwick Castle. Take a moment to admire the impressive architecture and historical significance of this iconic landmark.

High Life North

Optional: Visit the Castle grounds and gardens (admission fees apply).

Walk north towards the River Aln and cross the picturesque Lion Bridge, offering views of the castle and the river.

Photo Opportunity: This is a great spot to take photos with Alnwick Castle as a backdrop.

Continue along the pathway into Hulne Park, a beautiful estate with woodland trails and open fields. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including deer and various bird species.

Follow the marked trail to Ratten Row, a serene path that leads you through lush greenery and provides a tranquil walking experience.

High Life North

Rest Stop: Benches along the path are perfect for a short break and taking in the natural beauty.

Exit Hulne Park and make your way towards The Alnwick Garden, adjacent to the castle. Explore the gardens (admission fees apply), known for their impressive landscape design and the famous Poison Garden.

Complete your loop by walking back to the castle, taking a different route through the town for a change of scenery.
