One of the most romantic spots in The Hiddle Hut that has our hearts is the second-floor bedroom mezzanine, reached by a reclaimed spiral staircase.

The star-gazing roof window above the king-sized hand-built bed offers an unparalleled view of Northumberland’s pristine dark skies. Imagine cuddling up in bed and watching the stars twinkle above – it’s truly magical.

Relax in the luxurious bathroom

The ensuite bathroom features a double-ended roll-top bath with stunning rural views and a monsoon shower (it’s absolute bliss.) The vanity, a restored Victorian washstand from a North Yorkshire manor house, adds a touch of elegance with its statement basin and waterfall tap.

The Hiddle Hut’s lovely owner, Catherine, ensures every guest feels special. On arrival, you’ll find a welcome hamper with home-baked treats, eggs from her free-range hens, and essentials like butter, milk and coffee pods.

For an extra treat, you can pre-order breakfast hampers or grazing boards. Catherine is also happy to help with any special decorations or setups for surprise proposals, celebrations and anniversaries.

ROMANTIC SURROUNDINGS

Situated in a private paddock with spectacular views of the Northumbrian landscape, The Hiddle Hut blends seamlessly with its surroundings. The garden features an outdoor fire pit and grill, a covered bar area on the deck for alfresco dining and fresh herbs for cooking.

Beyond the garden, you’ll find a small woodland copse with a winding path leading to a clearing with a bench. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the sunrise, sunset, and beautiful views.
