DRAG, DRINK & DRAW

Take part in a creative class like no other with this Drag, Drink & Draw workshop at Yolo Townhouse. You’ll get to enjoy a one-hour painting/drawing session with the fabulous drag queen Titania Gemini. At the end of the session, you can take a photo with Titania before taking your masterpiece home. Tickets include all painting materials, an ‘Absolut Queen’ welcome cocktail, plus one more from the menu to enjoy throughout the event.

GCT BEER FESTIVAL 2024

Where: Gosforth Civic Theatre

After two years away, the GCT Beer Festival returns for a weekend of beer, food and the best local music. This independent event will offer 20 keg and 10 cask beers on tap, a spirit and wine bar, and even a no and low-alcohol bar. Accompany your tipple with food from the GCT Café Bar, Goodtimes Tacos (Friday evening), or Scream for Pizza (Saturday). While enjoying your drinks and snacks, listen to some incredible local artists perform on stage, including Awkward Black Girl, Bigfatbig, SwanNek and Elizabeth Liddle.

BRITISH COUNTRY FESTIVAL

Where: Darlington Market Square

Experience the spirit of British country music in Darlington’s Market Square. The Forum will be presenting an evening of foot-tapping music. Look forward to performances from Kezia Gill, whose talent has seen her tour Europe, Australia and the USA, as well as Darlington-born Hayley McKay, who is certainly one to look out for. Dance along to a joyful mix of folk, Irish, country, rock, and blues music, all presented with spectacular vocals and musicianship.

This family-friendly walk-through experience features a colourful trail of twelve artist-designed interactive spaces, each intended to ignite your imagination, make you smile and explore what it means to be happy. Head to Gingerino’s for an evening of summer house music, electronica and good vibes – perfect for a post-pub boogie or pre-club warm-up! Dance your heart out, then grab a pizza slice and can from downstairs to refuel. All proceeds from this loft party will go towards Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter.
