This luxury prosecco afternoon tea with sea views is a must

Afternoon tea with views of rolling waves crashing on Tynemouth Longsands? There’s only one place that offers it – The Grand Hotel, Tynemouth.

The majestic hotel has been an iconic fixture of the North East coast since 1872, and is still considered one of the original luxury hotels in our region (the Tripadvisor reviews speak for themselves).

Both the Brasserie Restaurant and Drawing Room have large bay windows with second-to-none views out to the North Sea – and what better way to enjoy it than with one of its famous afternoon teas.

Held in high regard in the region, The Grand Hotel, Tynemouth serves almost 30,000 of the delicious savoury and sweet towers every year.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Afternoon tea at The Grand is a traditional affair. Take your seat in either the comfy sofas and armchairs in The Drawing Room or standard restaurant tables in the Brasserie Restaurant.

Staff will treat you like royalty, setting up your afternoon tea and ensuring your drink never runs dry.

THE DRINKS

Unlimited tea and filter coffee are served as standard with the afternoon tea, but why not treat yourself to a cocktail created by The Grand’s mixologists at the bar?

The Grand 75 (£12.00) is our recommendation – Champagne, Grand Marnier and Lemon – it’s the perfect accompaniment.

They also offer non-alcoholic seasonal drinks such as Raspberry and Pomegranate Lemonade and a range of Prosecco cocktails as well as speciality coffees, herbal teas and luxury hot chocolates.
