A spectator’s guide: Where to watch the Tour of Britain 2024 in Tees Valley

The Tour of Britain is one of the UK’s premier professional cycling events, attracting top international cyclists to compete in a multi-stage race across the country.
For its 20th year, the Tour of Britain 2024 will begin in Kelso in the Scottish Borders on Tuesday, 3rd September, then arriving in Tees Valley on 4th September where the race will start in Darlington pass through North Yorkshire, before ending in Redcar & Cleveland. The Tour then continues on to Sheffield and Northamptonshire over six days, ending in Suffolk on Sunday, 8th September.

WHERE TO WATCH THE TOUR OF BRITAIN 2024 IN TEES VALLEY
Riders will battle it out at some of Tees Valley’s most iconic spots, including Saltburn Bank, Yarm High Street and Darlington town centre
Darlington – from 11.00am
Riders will face a tricky, technical circuit through the town’s tree-lined suburbs and town centre streets before heading out of town down the A67 via Teesside International Airport towards Yarm.
Stockton-on-Tees – from 12noon
Stockton-on-Tees is the second location on Wednesday’s race. The route will enter Stockton via the A67 past Teesside International Airport, snaking through the iconic market town of Yarm, and descending into the North Yorkshire Moors.
Redcar and Cleveland – from 1.30pm
Redcar and Cleveland is the final location of the day. The course will provide a major test for the riders as they take on multiple laps around the seaside town of Saltburn and unrelenting climbs of East Cleveland’s roads before heading through Marske-by-the-Sea and finishing on Redcar seafront.
Free to attend – spectators are very welcome.
