Capturing the moments that photos miss

Emily, who married James at Kinmount House on May 14th, 2023, was certain from the beginning that she wanted a videographer. “I wanted one to capture the moments that photographs couldn’t,” she explains. The video allowed her to relive the interactions between loved ones, their reactions, and emotions, particularly the joyful moments shared by her parents and grandparents. “These are memories that a photograph alone might not fully convey, but a video brings them to life in a way that we’ll treasure forever.”

Gemma, who tied the knot with Paul at Ellingham Hall on April 13th, 2024, was initially unsure about the need for a videographer alongside a photographer, especially since she had planned an intimate wedding. However, she soon realised that the sound bites accompanying their wedding video — the vows, her daughter’s reading, the speeches — were invaluable. “These are moments that simply cannot be captured in a photograph,” says Gemma. “I’m so glad now that we booked Silver Fern Films.”

Enhancing the wedding experience

Emily praises the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere created by Stacey from Silver Fern Films. “She kept us company and captured moments that might otherwise have been missed,” she says. While Gemma says how Stacey was discrete yet incredibly helpful with practical tasks like buttoning her dress, adjusting her veil, and even teaching them some dance moves for their first dance!

These small but meaningful gestures added a personal touch to their day, making the experience not only about the final video but also about the journey of getting there.

Emily continues, “We’d seen Stacey’s videos on Instagram and could see how talented she is. Her style is exactly what we were looking for: the ability to capture the natural emotion of the day whilst creating a stunning, movie-quality film to keep forever.”

Reliving the day again and again

One of the most cherished benefits of having a wedding video is the ability to relive the day over and over. Emily describes feeling “very emotional, very grateful, and very loved” every time she watches her wedding video. She especially loves the footage of her husband’s grandma dancing with her hands in the air, a moment that stands out vividly in her memory and that she loves to keep watching.

Gemma echoes this sentiment, saying that their video brings back all the emotions of the day, allowing them to enjoy it all over again. She particularly treasures the footage of the children walking down the aisle, a beautiful moment she didn’t get to see on the day, but that is now captured forever.

One of the unexpected joys of having a videographer was the behind-the-scenes footage that both brides cherish. Emily loves the incredible drone shot captured at sunset, where she and her husband are looking out over the lake. For Gemma, the “getting ready” footage was a highlight, as it allowed her to see what her husband was up to on the morning of the wedding — something she would never otherwise have seen.
