Joker: Folie a Deux

In cinemas 4th October

This highly anticipated sequel is set two years after the events of Joker (2019). Failed comedian Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is now a patient at Arkham State Hospital awaiting trial for his crimes, where he meets the love of his life Lee (Lady Gaga), a fellow inmate. Upon their release, the pair soon embark on a doomed romantic misadventure as The Joker and Harley Quinn. After the R rated original, we’re bracing ourselves for more bloody violence in this moody and unique take on the superhero genre.  It’s also surprising that Folie a Deux will be a jukebox musical… do I look like I’m joking?    

Transformers One

Transformers One is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron. If you’re a fan of the live action movies then you’ll know that they are deadly enemies, but once they were friends who were bonded like brothers. This one has Chris Hemsworth and Scarlet Johansson providing the voices.

Salem’s Lot

Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover that his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire. You just can’t go wrong with a terrifying Steven King adaption, be it iconic movies like The Shining or IT, you’re guaranteed good scare.

The Last Robot

In cinemas 18th October

This epic adventure follows the journey of a robot – ROZZUM unit 7134, or ‘Roz’ for short. Shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Roz must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling. Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy and Mark Hamill provide the voices for this beautiful-looking animated film.

Smile 2

In cinemas 18th October

Smile 2 is the sequel to Smile (2022) – a psychological supernatural horror from director Parker Flinn. Global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) is about to embark on a new world tour when she begins experiencing inexplicable and terrifying events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past and try to regain control of her life before it starts to spiral out of control. If you’re after a terrifying scare in the run up to Halloween night, then this could be one for you.    

Venom: The Last Dance 

In cinemas 25th October 

Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex anti-heroes, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie Brock and Venom are on the run, hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in. The duo is soon forced to make a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.
