WHY VOLUNTEER? WE ASKED VOLUNTEERS THEMSELVES…
“I initially started volunteering in 2014 to make myself more useful (at the request of my wife). I fell in love with my role as a Volunteer Driver, it’s a great feeling doing a role that is clearly appreciated by the people we are helping. Driving round the Northumberland countryside with marvellous people isn’t bad either. I also like helping in fundraising to see the other side in raising the vital funds for the Hospice services. The events are great fun, it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and to make money for the Hospice.” – Peter, Volunteer Driver and Fundraising Volunteer
“I find working as a volunteer with the Hospice’s fundraising team and going to an array of different events a positive and enjoyable experience. Raising the profile and sharing what the charity provides to the local community while also raising funds is what I find is very rewarding.” – Nina, Fundraising Volunteer
