From a Yule decoration workshop to a festive feast to see out the year in style, we unwrap Ad Gefrin’s tree-mendous festive calendar.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Ad Gefrin is all set to sleigh this festive season with their events already selling out fast.
Tucked away in the scenic Cheviot Hills and the cosy village of Wooler, Ad Gefrin is more than just Northumberland’s first whisky distillery; it’s a historical journey into the Anglo-Saxon era.
This Northumberland hidden gem draws inspiration from a 7th-century royal summer palace discovered just four miles away. Ad Gefrin brings the Anglo-Saxon era to life, narrating tales of forgotten kings and queens, creating an immersive museum experience that unites people and celebrates a new golden age for Northumbria.
As the festive season is approaching, Ad Gefrin invites us to celebrate Christmas the Anglo-Saxon way. Fun fact, did you know that Christmas is actually an Anglo-Saxon word – Cristesmæsse – that was first recorded in 1038?
Now, let’s talk Yule – a blend of ritual, community and feasting. It’s a tradition that’s all about celebrating together, drawing inspiration from the season’s utility and materials. And that’s exactly what Ad Gefrin is set to celebrate this winter – here’s everything you need to know…
HLN TOP TIP: Why not add lunch in the Bistro to your event? Just add the required number of lunch tickets to your basket at checkout.
