ON THE MENU

Chef Keegan’s tasting menus are designed for more than just flavour – they’re designed to bring comfort, indulgence and surprise. This autumn-inspired menu leans into hearty, warming ingredients with clever uses of seasonal produce, ensuring not only delicious food but minimal waste.

You’ll kick your evening off with the slightly infamous Tynedale cheese tart (a local fave). We all have family favourites, and the next course is Michael’s “Mam’s Soup” is a tribute to classic North East comfort food. Think ham hock terrine, peas pudding and seasoned baby vegetables with a brioche bun for dipping.

This is followed by pumpkin agnolotti with sage, hazelnut and beurre noisette, before tucking into hand-dived scallop featuring a satay sauce made from normally discarded scallop trimmings – a genius, eco-friendly way to add depth and flavour.

As we’re coming into game season, the main course is delicious Northumbrian venison, (one of Michael’s favourite meats) prepared with SK Dining creativity.

And if you have a sweet tooth, you’ll enjoy the indulgent dessert courses featuring Amalfi lemon sorbet, banana parfait with peanut caramel and rum and petit fours featuring 70% Guanaja chocolate, mint fondant filling and white miso fudge – a perfect way to end your evening.

THE MAN BEHIND THE MAGIC

SK Dining was created by chef Michael Keegan, who, in his words, became ‘obsessed’ with cooking since his teenage years. Inspired by his parents’ cooking (SK are their initials), he honed his skills at Newcastle College before gaining experience in renowned Rosette and Michelin Guide kitchens.

Now, with SK Dining, he’s bringing a unique approach that’s warm, accessible and fun – perfect if you want to appreciate great food without the fine dining fuss. Each dish in his eight-course tasting menus is created to surprise, satisfy and make fine flavours accessible to us all.
