The first ever Discovery Nights event The Good Life, gives adults the opportunity to explore the museum after-hours, with DJ Keep it Spinning setting the mood, drinks from local micro-brewery StuBrew and pizza and festive drinks in the museum café.

You could take an expert-led tour of the museum’s costume stores, create your own cosmetics, try some crafting, experience storytelling exploring the rich history of cotton and swap clothes, and treat yourself (or stock up on Christmas gifts) from the various local makers.

Embark on a magical journey through Leazes Park this Christmas, where the Northern Lights will return after its immensely popular first year.

The enchanted light trail will take you through 12 to 15 new illuminations, magical zones and special effects, meaning you’ll get a completely new experience if you visited in 2023.

Start the experience by cosying up in the immersive 360° domed theatre, where you’ll watch Santa and his reindeer travel across the globe during the ‘What Santa Sees’ show.

You’ll then indulge in a hot chocolate and sweet treat with Santa’s favourite elf, then visit the man in red himself at his house! Watch exciting demonstrations as he prepares for the big day and uses science to solve problems.
