Needle Felting Workshop: Make a Snowman  - Shipley Art Gallery

A friendly tutor will show you how to sculpt wool into a snowman using a long needle, then add your own embellishments to give it character.

Festive Felting Workshop – Life Science Centre

Make your own felt robin during this delightfully festive workshop at the Life Science Centre.

You’ll be taught the art of needle felting by maker Lindsey Stevenson, who will show you how to use wool and special needles to form shapes. At the end of the evening, you’ll have your very own cute decoration or gift for Christmas.

All materials and tools are included in the ticket price, and you’ll also get a complimentary glass of fizz, mulled wine, beer or a soft drink.

Festive Bath Bomb Workshop – Shipley Art Gallery

Learn how to make your own Christmas bath bombs in this hands-on workshop.

You’ll get to make up to five bath bombs using two different festive fragrances. Choose from a range of moulds to shape your bath bombs and try adding hidden pigment, so that an extra colour will be revealed when it’s placed in water.

Cardboard packaging is provided, which you can decorate at home to make a beautifully wrapped gift.

All bath bombs are vegan, cruelty-free, and nut-free.

Festive Tote Bag Printing Workshop – Life Science Centre

Create the perfect handmade gift for Christmas with this tote bag workshop.

The specialists at Northern Print will show you how to use printmaking tehniques to create and print your design.

The session will take place in the festively decorated Making Studios overlooking the Centre’s massive glowing Earth. Workshops last one hour and there are three slots on each day: 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

The ticket price includes admission to the rest of the Life Science Centre, so you can enjoy the other festive activities and exhibitions happening there too!

The Crafty Bazaar returns for a festive Christmas craft fair, featuring a variety of local produce, makers, designers, and small business owners! Shop from a wide range of homeware, food, clothing, skincare, artwork, handmade gifts and much more, this time at The Grove, Byker. 

The bar will be open during the event and you can also treat yourself to food from Byker Slice, which will be open from 12pm. This market is also dog friendly!

The first 50 visitors will receive a FREE tote bag!
