After injecting new energy and vibrancy into Heaton’s dining scene, the masterminds behind sister venues Nest, Flight and Layover continue to ruffle some feathers.
Nestled on Chillingham Road, Hide is the stylish new restaurant that’s already soaring high.
As always, you can expect to be taken on a culinary journey with delicious, fine-dining dishes made from seasonal ingredients, showcasing local produce in a welcoming, informal and relaxed setting.

THE VIBE
Heaton’s dining scene is having a moment, and Hide is here to bring something new to the table. Open seven days a week, serving food Monday – Saturday, this contemporary new restaurant feels like a cosy retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chillingham Road – perfect for escaping the dark winter days and nights.
With space for 28 diners, a spacious bar and a private dining room, Hide’s stylish interior draws inspiration from its sister venue, Nest. As soon as you step inside, you’ll be captivated by the beautiful décor, which features a statement ceiling covered with tree branches, mood lighting and stunning décor that creates a welcoming vibe.
The attention to detail is second to none, from the high-quality glassware and cutlery to the beautiful plates. The illuminated bar area and comfy, chic seating enhance the relaxed dining experience, made even better by the friendly, top-notch service.

Breakfast Tasting Menu

Hide serves a unique breakfast experience. Forget the usual morning brunch offerings—this seven-course breakfast tasting menu is the first of its kind in our city.
Start with a smoothie, then dive into dishes from smashed broad bean muffin to a smoked salmon crumpet and the delicious Hide stack and truffle hash brown. Finish with a coffee panna cotta, all complemented by breakfast cocktails like bloody marys, breakfast margaritas and of course, freshly brewed coffee.
À la carte – December’s menu
Start your evening by indulging in the luxury of oysters with 3 for £10 or go all out with 6 for £18.
There’s a range of starters to choose from. From the rich depth of roe deer tartar to the velvety smoothness of a wild mushroom parfait, there’s something for every palate. Fancy something a little different? Try the beef fat crumpet topped with black garlic or the perfectly balanced mulled wine poached pear – perfect for veggies.
Let’s move on to the mains. The confit turkey leg ballotine brings our favourite festive flavours with its chestnut and apricot stuffing. Our eyes are the the wild halibut with smoked eel sauce and Jerusalem artichoke. If you’re plant-based Hide have got you covered with the pumpkin and pine nut pithivier.
Desserts are the cherry on top of this gourmet journey. From the creamy Seville orange posset to the rich and indulgent dark chocolate torte, finish your evening off with something sweet.
BAR & BITES
Not only is Hide ready to serve up a culinary storm, but it’s also the perfect spot for pre-or post-dinner drinks. Fancy an after-dinner cocktail? They’ve got you covered – it’s the ideal way to wrap up your evening.
