There’s a lot happening in the market town of Hexham right now, and its dining scene is thriving.
Hexham Restaurant Week is just around the corner, from Monday 3rd March, to Sunday 9th March 2025 – a new event that will showcase some of the best restaurants, cafés, and bistros, offering specially curated menus at great value prices.
Here are our top picks…
The Beaumont Hotel
Beaumont Street, Hexham, NE46 3LT
The offer: 2 courses for £20 | 3 courses for £25
The Beaumont Hotel is an excellent spot in Hexham for seasonal British cuisine – it has an open-plan restaurant, lounge, and bar with an informal vibe that serves delicious food. The Restaurant Week menu is a good opportunity to try this spot, the starters, in particular, look delicious.

Bouchon Bistrot

The offer: 2 courses for £22 | 3 courses for £23
If you’ve always wanted to try one of Hexham’s most highly acclaimed restaurants, Bouchon Bistrot, this is your chance. Born in Loire Valley, with experience working in Michelin-star restaurants, the owner is passionate about bringing traditional French cuisine to Hexham. The Restaurant Week menu is incredible value, with steak frites, classic coq au vin, and a third course for just £1 extra.

The Rat Inn

Available Wednesday – Saturday (but not Saturday evening)
Another stalwart that has been on HLN’s must-try list for a while is The Rat Inn, situated just outside Hexham centre, in the hamlet of Anick. Since the owners Phil and Karen took over the pub in 2007, it’s become well-known for its award-winning food and recognition in the Michelin Guide. Small dogs are welcome here, but it must be pre-arranged as part of the booking.

Danielle’s Bistro

The offer: 2 courses for £15 | 3 courses for £20
Italian-run Danielle’s Bistro has been loved by Hexham locals for almost 30 years, serving a mix of Mediterranean and British cuisine. The generous Restaurant Week menu includes creamy garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast, large spinach and ricotta ravioli and slow-braised beef – just don’t forget to leave room for the waffles on the dessert menu.

Available 12noon – 2.30pm every day of Restaurant Week (subject to availability).
Lunch like royalty in the 14th-century Langley Castle this Hexham Restaurant Week. The 2 AA Rosette restaurant offers a unique dining experience, and it’s taking part with a lunch menu featuring dishes including crispy belly pork, homemade gnocchi and pink flat iron steak. The dessert menu sounds really delicious (banoffee pie, yes please).

Little Mexico

This fun and vibrant Mexican in Hexham town centre is offering a tasty three-course set menu this Restaurant Week.
