Celebrate the season of new beginnings with a plethora of nature-themed events at the BALTIC.
There will be a range of talks and tours to enjoy, including guided bike rides, nature tours, kittiwake talks, and the chance to see the BALTIC’s resident honeybees.

During this unique tour, you’ll travel back in time and discover intriguing rooms, stories and objects not usually seen by the public.
Explore the regal State Bedroom which was designed to impress important visitors, venture into the 10th Lord Barnard’s private study – unchanged since his death in 1964 – and roam other lesser-known realms of the Castle.

GemArts x Baltic Holi Festival of Colours – BALTIC

Head to BALTIC to celebrate Holi – a Hindu festival celebrating love, spring and the coming of new life.
Wander through exhibitions on a tour, take part in creative workshops, and chat to contemporary artists exploring South Asian art forms. There will also be dance, henna, music and food to enjoy throughout the building.
A colour-throwing finale will bring the event to a joyous close, where people gather outside to throw colourful powder pigment in the ultimate celebration of spring and colour. Separate tickets are required to join in the colour throwing, so see the BALTIC website for more info.
This event is for people of any or no faith – everyone is welcome.
Threads: The Sunniside Clothing Market – High Street West, Sunniside

Sunniside’s High Street West will be transformed into a fashion-lover’s heaven, with multiple venues across the area hosting a range of clothes stalls from 12pm to 9pm.
Hop from venue to venue and browse the highly curated racks for modern and vintage clothes, streetwear, workwear and contemporary brands. Pick up some second-hand treasures or find new gems from emerging designers.
There will also be music from local DJs, delicious street food, regionally brewed coffee and more. It’s like a marketplace app but better!
