The location at sunrise looks beautiful, so we recommend going for an early slot. Start with 10-15 minutes in the sauna before jumping into the sea to cool off and repeating the process. Sauna Hetta is a lovely wooden sauna in Northumberland. It is close to The Barn on the Bay and has private access to the beach at Druridge Bay. They have different types of sessions in winter and summer, so check the website for full details. From October to April, there’s a pop-up café, Coffee in The Cowshed, which has a selection of hot drinks, cakes, bakes, hot pies and soups.


Seaham Wild Sauna
Seaham Hall Beach, Seaham

This gorgeous wood-fired pop-up sauna is on the picturesque Pease Bay in Seaham (another excellent spot for a sunrise sauna). They run every Saturday from 7.00am to 11.00am, focusing on mindfulness and relaxation. Like the others, the routine is made up of 10/15 minutes in the sauna before jumping out for a cool-down dip. Due to the remote location, this one is a peaceful spot where you can completely disconnect.
Snug Sauna
Seaton Sluice Beach

Snug Sauna is one of the newest pop-up saunas in the area, located on the long sandy beach in Seaton Sluice (which has some lovely pubs, cafes and an iconic fish & chip shop). As well as communal sessions and private hire, they also offer good value memberships so you can experience the benefits of regular sauna. The private sauna gift (£60) offers full hire for five friends, which is a great present for a wellness lover.
