KIELDER: FOREST AND RESERVOIR VIEWS

Bull Crag Trail
Distance: 10.14 km (6.3 miles)
Perfect for: family-friendly outings
This circular trail is a gem for beginners and families, hugging the shoreline of Kielder Water. With stunning views of the reservoir throughout, it’s a perfect introduction to the Reiver Trails.
Falstone Trail
Distance: 24.3 km (15.1 miles)
Perfect for: scenic rides and tranquil walks
Starting in Falstone village or Hawkhope on the north side of Kielder Dam, this route loops through the North Tyne Valley and crosses Kielder Water’s dam. Quiet roads and forest tracks offer a peaceful experience, whether you’re walking, cycling or riding.


Cross Crags Trail
Distance: 47.48 km (29.5 miles)
Perfect for: long-distance explorers
Explore the heart of Kielder Forest on this circular trail connecting Stonehaugh and Kielder Waterside. Visit the forest’s exact centre and discover Lord Robinson’s memorial, celebrating the visionary behind Kielder’s creation.

The Sill Circular

This trail connects Stonehaugh with The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre. Pass Steel Rigg and Scotch Coulthard on quiet roads before diving into the heart of the forest. It’s an adventurous loop with history and scenery in every step or pedal.
