From Saturday 5th April to Sunday 27th April 2025, the historic estate is pulling out all the stops with a fun-filled lineup of Easter activities, many of which are free with your ticket.

KIDS GO FREE INTO RABY CASTLE

Until Sunday 27th April 2025

The good news is that kids go free this Easter. That’s right, from mid-March through to the end of April, little ones can explore Raby Castle without spending a single penny (with a valid Park and Gardens or Plotters’ Forest ticket). 

Wander through grand halls, uncover the secrets of one of England’s finest medieval castles and enjoy the Castle Quest Trail – a treasure hunt through time.

DAILY FREE EASTER ACTIVITIES

Saturday 5th – Sunday 27th April 2025

Every day this Easter, there’s something new to discover at Raby Castle, Park and Gardens. Budding little green thumbs can try their hand at seed planting in the Walled Gardens, while crafty kids will love making bunny ear hats in the Yurt. 

Watching the deer feeding in the beautiful parkland and family explorer tours round off a jam-packed programme of Easter events – all included with your entry.

THE PLOTTERS’ FOREST LITTLE EGGSPLORERS TRAIL

Saturday 5th – Sunday 27th April 2025

Get ready for an Easter trail like no other. Head into The Plotters’ Forest, where giant, colourful eggs are tucked away amongst whispering Christmas trees and winding woodland paths. Solve clues, explore epic play zones and grab a tasty treat when you complete the trail.

After your adventure, pop into The Plotters’ Pantry to refuel with some sweet seasonal snacks before adventuring further into the estate’s beautiful grounds.

SPRING ANIMALS TRAIL AT THE DEER PARK AND GARDENS

Spring is in full swing – and there’s no better way to enjoy it than with a peaceful wander through Raby’s Spring Animals Trail. Keep an eye out for playful rabbits, cheeky fox cubs, fluffy ducklings and other woodland friends. It’s a tranquil, family-friendly trail that’ll help everyone reconnect with nature.

EASTER FOOD AND CRAFT MARKET

Friday 18th – Monday 21st April 2025

This Easter weekend, the castle’s historic grounds transform into a bustling food and craft fair for the first time in its history. Feast on delicious street food from local food vendors, treat yourself to Easter goodies and shop for handmade treasures and unique homeware from local artisans in The Riding School, Dutch Barn and Coach House Shop. 

There’ll be garden walk and talk workshops, activities for all ages, and of course, more chances to join the egg hunt trail.

Hop into Spring Trail at High Force Waterfall

Looking for a fun spring day out? Just half an hour up the road from Raby Castle, High Force Waterfall is hosting its spring Easter Trail every day. Bring the whole family for the Bunny Ears Woodland Trail – a magical walk through beautiful woodlands with hidden bunny ears along the way.

It’s a gentle, circular trail that’s great for all ages and abilities. Enjoy fresh air, stunning views and a touch of Easter Bunny magic on your woodland adventure.

This May Bank Holiday, head to Raby Castle’s first Spring Garden Fair, celebrating the garden’s reawakening with a range of garden experts and talks, entertainment in the beautiful amphitheatre, children’s seed planting and crafts, tractor and trailer rides, a local artisan market and so much more…
