Beyond the Byre
Discover the beauty of copper, enamel and mixed metal creations based in Blanchland, Northumberland. Beyond the Byre was established in 2020 by husband and wife duo David and Carolyn Asquith. Since then, the pair have been creating bespoke jewellery pieces ranging from chunky bangles to dainty enamel earrings. This creative venture began at their dining room table and has since grown into a full-time business operating from their purpose-built studio.
What we’re loving:

Sea Beans Collective
This locally established small batch jewellery brand specialises in handcrafted silver jewellery featuring recycled materials such as ceramic shards, sea glass, and depression glass. Founder Eleanor Woodhouse has been able to establish her own unique style of jewellery making and loves to experiment with new pieces, giving you lots of original pieces to choose from. Sea Beans Collective drops new pieces Saturday so you can always find something new and unique.

This Newcastle-based independent jewellery brand was founded by designer Sophy. Her journey began with the inheritance of her Nana’s jewellery-making tools, which inspired her to teach herself the craft. Kirsty Taylor Jewellery
Kirsty Taylor Goldsmiths in Corbridge is known in the region for her bespoke and one-of-a-kind engagement rings. A goldsmith and jewellery designer, she combines her 20 years of expertise to handcraft pieces that are exceptional quality, sustainable and bespoke. She also has two ready-to-buy collections, which we love. The Northumbrian Collection, inspired by our local landmarks, and the Roman Coin Collection. With more than 40 pieces across both collections, these make such special keepsakes that you won’t find anywhere else.

This small Northumbrian business specialises in 925 sterling silver jewellery inspired by her North East home. Founded by designer and silversmith Martha Gothorp, her pieces are influenced by the Northumbrian coastline, encapsulating the natural beauty of the region. Salt and Co’s designs often stem from beachcombing excursions, where she collects seashells to cast into unique jewellery items for you to love.
