WHAT IS MADE UP NORTH ALL ABOUT?

If you haven’t already heard of Made Up North, let us introduce you to your new favourite way to shop local. Made Up North is more than just a market – it’s a movement. Founded by creative powerhouse Rebecca Ridley, it’s a growing platform supporting independent makers, artists and small businesses across the region. From pop-up shops to curated markets, Made Up North is all about bringing people together to celebrate Northern creativity.

SUMMER DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

This summer, Made Up North is popping up in not one but two iconic North East locations: the elegant Beaumont Hotel in Hexham and the edgy Boiler Shop in Newcastle.

MADE UP NORTH MARKET AT THE BEAUMONT, HEXHAM

Friday 6th June from 11am – 6pm

Entry: free

Don’t miss Made Up North’s first ever market in Hexham, hosted in the gorgeous Victorian setting of The Beaumont Hotel. Right in the heart of Hexham, this brand-new market will showcase 18 handpicked northern creatives – from ceramicists to illustrators, fashion designers to skincare experts.

Expect a relaxed and welcoming vibe, with wheelchair access, dog-friendly policies and more indie shops to discover in the market town outside. If you’re searching for the best markets in Northumberland, this one’s a must.

MADE UP NORTH MARKET

There’ll be handcrafted skincare by Pamoja Skincare and Oakwood Soaperie, both offering vegan, natural beauty made right here in the North East. Shop stylish sustainable denim from Just Harry, or explore upcycled accessories from Stomp of Nature, all crafted with a conscience.

Looking to upgrade your look with unique jewellery and leather pieces? Tori Lo Designs offers statement leather belts and bags, while KiJo Jewellery blends sustainable materials with timeless design.

Made Up North’s Boiler Shop Summer Market is back and better than ever. If you’re after a buzzing Newcastle market, this is your go-to. Expect over 65 Northern makers, artists and food vendors all under one roof – plus an in-house bar, live music, good vibes and, of course, more handmade treasures than you can carry.

The first 10 people through the door get a free gift, and 10% of ticket profits go to the market’s chosen charity, The People’s Kitchen. There’s also a donation point for East End Women – bring items like tinned food, hygiene products or long-life milk and you’ll be entered into a charity raffle.
