Get ready, something seriously stylish is heading your way. The Great Northern Contemporary Craft and Art Fair is popping up in Newcastle for the very first time, and it’s bringing over 100 incredible independent makers with it.

A THREE-DAY CELEBRATION OF CREATIVITY
From Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd June 2025, Northumbria University’s Sport Central will be buzzing with creative energy as the venue hosts this brand-new event.
Expect a stunning mix of contemporary craft, fine art and one-of-a-kind design pieces – all handpicked by an expert panel for their originality and quality.
Whether you’re after a unique statement piece for your home, a special piece of jewellery or just fancy a browse through beautifully made, meaningful craft, this is where you’ll find it.
MEET THE MAKERS
What makes this fair extra special? You’ll get to meet the artists and makers themselves, hear their stories, watch demos and even try your hand at a new skill. It’s shopping – but make it inspiring.
Here’s a sneak peek…
MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER NEWCASTLE FAIR – A PLATFORM FOR MAKERS TO THRIVE
What makes the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair truly special is that this fair exists to give back.
Run by a not-for-profit team with a real passion for championing creativity, GNCCF reinvests every penny it makes into helping independent makers grow. Think bursary schemes for new graduates, business development support, and community outreach projects that bring craft to people and places who might not otherwise experience it.

Since its very first event back in 2008 – officially opened by none other than design legend Thomas Heatherwick – the GNCCF has helped over 3,500 artists showcase their work, and has sold more than £3.5 million of craft to design-savvy shoppers across the UK.
So when you shop at GNCCF Newcastle this June, you’re not just picking up something beautiful – you’re helping to keep our local craft scene thriving, future-proofing the careers of talented makers and supporting a fair that’s doing good from the inside out.
FANCY A FRIDAY NIGHT WITH A CREATIVE TWIST?
Kick off your weekend with the Private View on Friday 20th June from 6.30pm–9pm. Sip a complimentary glass of wine and enjoy a more relaxed shopping experience before the crowds descend. Think artful inspiration meets Friday night out.

SUPPORT INDEPENDENT, SHOP LOCAL
With over 100 exhibitors from across the UK – and many from right here in the North East – this fair is a brilliant way to support small businesses and take home something truly unique. No mass production here – just thoughtful, high-end pieces made with heart and soul.
