Newcastle Wine Week: Sip and save at the city’s best wine spots

Raise your glass. From Friday 20th – Sunday 29th June 2025, Newcastle is hosting its very first Newcastle Wine Week, giving wine lovers the chance to enjoy half-price wine offers at some of the best venues in town.
Organised by Leah Newman of Whispering Wine – a Newcastle-based wine retail and events company – and supported by David Harker of Newcastle Wine School, this new addition to the city’s calendar is designed to make discovering amazing wine as easy as possible.
Here’s how it works:
Buy your Newcastle Wine Week wristband and enjoy 50% off a bespoke list of wines at participating restaurants, bars and bottle shops across the city. Each venue has worked with Leah to craft a wine list that not only complements their menu but showcases their unique vibe.
And yes – the line-up features some of our favourite independent spots…

Pour Decisions
233 Chillingham Road, NE6 5LJ
This cool wine shop and tasting bar in Heaton is known for its modern wine list and easy-going atmosphere. Expect natural wines, chilled reds and a change from your usual whites – all at half price with your wristband.
St. Vincent
29 Broad Chare, NE1 3DQ
This effortlessly stylish Quayside spot already has one of the city’s best wine lists – and it’s about to get even better. During Wine Week, expect to try a range of delicious glasses, chosen to pair perfectly with their seasonal small plates.

House of Tides
28-30 Close, NE1 3RF
Newcastle’s only Michelin-starred restaurant joins the celebration, offering a rare chance to sample sommelier-approved wines at a fraction of the usual price. This is five-star sipping with serious savings.
The French Quarter
Arch 6 Westgate Road, NE1 1SA
Tucked away beneath the railway arches, this laid-back gem serves up French bistro vibes with a side of wine education. Their Newcastle Wine Week list includes rich reds and crisp whites from lesser-known producers – a dream for those wanting to discover more about French wine.

Alan the B
25 Station Road, South Gosforth, NE3 1QD
South Gosforth’s newest bar is all about community, creativity, and great drinks. Expect a fun, eclectic selection curated just for Wine Week, perfect for sipping with pals alongside their Majorcan-inspired small plates. And if you’re lucky, Alan the Beagle will be wandering about.
Victor Indigo November (VIN)
Arch 12 Wellington Street, Gateshead, NE8 2AJ
One of our favourite wine spots in Gateshead is a must-visit during Wine Week. They have a glass of sparkling, red, white and rose as part of the offer, plus wine flights for only £7.50. Add paired cheeses for just £10pp.

La Casa Delicatessen
Unit 39-41 Grainger Market, NE1 5QG
For something a bit different, head to La Casa – a beloved, authentic, Spanish bar, restaurant and delicatessen in the Grainger Market. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about Spanish wines, and their tapas is a must-try.
Blacks Corner, Fenwick Food Hall
39 Northumberland Street, NE1 7AS
This sophisticated spot in Fenwick Food Hall has a range of exceptional organic and biodynamic wines. They serve up the best local and sustainable produce, with delicious cheese and charcuterie sourced from independent producers.
